YouTube downloader for iOS???

Hi all, I'm looking for an app to download YouTube videos directly onto my iPhone and iPad. I have ProTube, but the developer says that both Apple and Google forced him to remove the "offline functionality" from his app. How ridiculous.

Is there no app available to download videos anymore? And if so, why the heck not??? I use iTube Studio on my Mac to download them and it works great.

If there's no app, is there perhaps a way around it via an extension or something like that? Can we get a jailbreak going, as I'm sure Cydia has something available for this.

You may or may not like it, but it is against YouTube's Terms of Service to download videos for offline viewing. They can't serve you ads if you're watching offline, so no surprise that they team up with Apple to eradicate that functionality.

Now and again 3rd party YouTube apps appear in the official App Store with an offline feature in it however you always have to be quick to download these before they are removed from the App Store. In most cases you will find these in the certain categories in the App Store in the top 10-25 and then look at the reviews if people are mentioning the offline fuctionality. There is always a risk that the developer is approached and decides to remove that functionality and as soon as you update the app that it's gone. The description in the App Store almost never mentions offline because it would then be removed instantly.

I'm still using a few offline apps which offer offline video (AudioTube - no longer in App Store) or audio only although not YouTube (Pocket Music) functionality.

Another way for offline watching YouTube videos is ofcourse subscribing to YouTube Red and pay a monthly 9.99 dollar (only available in a select amount of countries).

I am currently using two:

Even if they remove from Apple-Store or create an update removing this functionality I managed to save the .IPA files here. Unless in the future Google blocks this possibility somehow or newer iOS versions render these apps useless.

I suggest you do the same, and store the .IPA in a safe place such as Gooogle Drive or archive.org. That way you can have the app forever.

P.S. I have an iPAD Pro 9.7 and it's not jailbroken. And you don't need to, just find the right app to download these videos.
