many are telling that in iOS 14 we are able to watch videos in 4K ,is this working on iPhone X ??

You'll be able to watch videos in 2160p on your iPhone X, the feature doesn't seem to be working for all videos yet.

4k is working for me on my SE 2nd gen, which isn’t even 1080. So I’d say yes it’ll work on the X. It’ll probably work on anything running iOS 14. I haven’t checked my first gen SE or iPhone 7 for that functionality yet.

Worked for a bit on my xs max, now it’s showing nothing in 2160p. 🥺

No videos showing 2160p on my iPad Pro.🥺

looks like it will be a slow rollout.

I can only see up to 1080p on my XS Max. Tried different Marques Brownlee videos and he even uploads some in 8k

XS Max here also, 2160p YouTube videos worked once for me last week, now they’re all in 1080p. 🤦‍♂️😂

Doesn’t matter which video I try, new, old, 4K, they’re all in 1080p now.

Serious question as I'm not a big YouTube watcher but I watch quite a bit of streaming stuff and it's all in 1080P and it looks fantastic to me.

But why would you a) even care to watch 4K video on a screen so small (including the extra bandwith) and b) can you really tell the difference on that small of a screen?

i personally don’t. Just checked to see what I have available to leave my feedback here. Apparently my videos were auto streaming in 720p so far and I didn’t even notice haha

downscale makes it look better, watch a 4k video on 1080p screen then watch 1080p on 1080p there is a big difference plus bitrate on youtube forces better picture onto the screen

No. The iPhone X has a 2K display ("only").

That literally has nothing to do with resolution settings on youtube. I can watch an 8k youtube video on my 1080P display. Now it won't be 8k but it will have a shitton of extra bitrate which is why people want the extra resolution setting, because the overall quality of the picture will be better.
