I've been having issues with Youtube on my Windows 11 Computer and I was wondering if anyone here might have an answer. Whenever I watch a short, it's all scrambled (if you were around in the 90s, think if you tried to turn it to HBO and Showtime and it was scrambled but you could still see something). I've tried it on a couple of browsers (Brave and Edge) and it's the same thing. The other issue is Youtube seems to flash a few times and crash my browser. I would be scrolling down or watching a video and it's like the entire site would blink a few times. What is interesting is when I have my Stock Trading program (Fidelity Active Trader Pro) open, it would crash that, and the browser, meaning I would need to close the browser and reopen. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix these issues or is it a computer problem? Do I need to update drivers? It's an Acer computer I bought in I think 2019. It's probably on it's last legs, but my Stock Trading does not work on the Mac, unfortunatly. Youtube does.

It sounds like either video driver/software/OS issue otherwise hardware. Quick way to rule out video driver/software/OS is to image Linux Mint Cinnamon to USB thumbdrive, boot off of it then test playing video in default Firebox browser. If it works then it's likely video driver/software/OS issue so start with updating Windows video driver (helps to list the model of your laptop) or worst case backup your data you need to keep then clean install Windows. On the other hand, if Linux Mint had the same issue then likely hardware.

Funny fidelity says :) :-

  • I use Parallels to run Active Trader Pro® on my Mac. What's the difference with this new version?
This version of Active Trader Pro for the Mac does not require a Windows operating system. This solution leverages CrossOver, a compatibility layer software, which allows applications designed for Windows to run on other operating systems.
If you are currently using Parallels to run multiple Windows applications, including Active Trader Pro, you can continue to do so.
If you are using Parallels solely to run Active Trader Pro, you can take advantage of this version; it doesn't require a Windows license (like Parallels does) and doesn't incur the performance penalties associated with running a Virtual Machine and the full Windows OS on the Virtual Machine.

Not a solution for your Acer :D

I think I fixed my Youtube issue. There is a graphic option in the settings of each browser that I had clicked on. It's supposed to be clicked off. It also seems to have fixed the youtube short thing as well.
