So I just updated to the latest version of the YouTube app and finally Picture in Picture in enabled! About time!
Whoopsgo into the settings and you will see the option for it. you need to have automatically switch to pip on…on the device. I have the option on both my iPad Pro and 12pm. Here’s a screenshot from my iPad.

I’m on version 16.20.5.I have Premium and I’m on the latest version. I don’t have the PIP. It seems Google is doing some A/B testing (=the feature is not enabled for all users).
I did double check on my devices, I never check “blogs” because they’ll wait a couple days to report anything, just like when Instagram rolled out dark mode, I have it on my iPad, iPhone and my wife’s iPhone. Maybe I’m just a lucky one who has it. I have YouTube premium but never signed up for any beta program or anything. The app though is not great with this version, freezes and crashes a lot though.Seems like OP is the only one so far.
Double-check next time before opening a new thread. Tech blogs would have mentioned it, too.

Me too and I don’t have it. Hopefully I’ll get it soon enough.I’m on version 16.20.5.
Yeah, Youtube probably sent the feature to a select few…. For testing purposes. I can still access PiP through some Shortcut… but I prefer it to be implemented into YT. However, I’m glad they are working on it.. for Premium users.Maybe I’m just a lucky one who has it. I have YouTube premium but never signed up for any beta program or anything. They probably just disappointed that the feature isn’t supported on their device. What do you mean by this comment?
