I recently setup an AppleTV with Apple extreme basestation in my apartment here in China. I have a 2 megabit connection via cable from ISP. I did a firmware upgrade to version 1.1 on the AppleTV to be able to stream YouTube content. I can log in to YouTube, I can browse the different content, and even do searches....and the content options pop up really fast.

What I cant do is watch the content. If I attempt to watch the content, I get the status bar at the bottom of the screen that never moves, and the ISP service modem shows no traffic whatsoever.

The funny thing about this...my friend in the same complex has a different ISP that is ADSL. He has the same issue. Both of us can watch YouTube content on our MACs, or our PCs. He nearly has the same setup as me.

Any ideas?

Casey

Might be some network issue - the server the AppleTV uses to get its non-flash YouTube content from will (probably) be a different IP address to the one you use to get flash YouTube from on your computer.

Have you any experience with monitor network traffic? Can you try connecting via a proxy?
