Just upgraded to 17.1 and now YT videos on safari no longer plays video when airplay to ATV (also on latest version). Only sound plays on tv.

I just used airplay yesterday before updating and it worked fine. Other apps airplay just fine. Only YT videos on safari don’t work.

Glad I’m not the only one. 17.2 beta does not fix this, by the way.

having similar issues with iPhone 12 Pro iOS17.1- no Airplay video (only audio?) to TV or Mac.
only screen sharing and personal videos work via airplay (safari, vlc, otehr third party— no vid, only audio?)

done all the troubleshooting; hard reboot of iPhone/TV/Router; reset TV/iPhone/router; reinstalled TV device in HomeKit... no help

TESTED both iPadOS 17 and macOS 14.1 airplay with TV, working properly— iOS still no vid/only audio via airplay.

EDIT: after more testing... it seems (at least for me) to be persistent problem with iOS Safari, Youtube vid via webpage, and VLC on the iPhone >airplay >to TV and Mac.

Other apps 'Airplay' normally Prime/Netflix/Photos/AppleTV from iPhone to both TV and Mac.

It seems like an hour after I posted that comment, the app Vinegar was updated to fix airplay support and get around that Youtube anti-adblock thing.
I ended up getting vinegar but airplay still doesn’t work for me

Vinegar has a new option that you have to enable the airplay mode.

In Safari, hit that AA button > Vinegar > turn on Airplay Compatibility Mode

Yeah I stumbled upon it after reading the update notes. Now it works :) thanks for the app suggestion
