I wish there is an app that lets me record YouTube videos on iPhone/Touch so that I won't need the help of wi-fi if I want to watch it again later. Could Apple approve such an app if it's designed as such you cannot transfer the video?

Doubtful, but it's extremely easy to do on your home computer. I'd tell you how I do it but the program is outdated and someone else will probably be able to show you a faster / easier way.

Way too many copyright issues for Apple to allow that on the iphone.

i think i saw one but it had Chinese writing and i could only get a rough idea that it does to this

There's a jailbreak app for that. I believe it's called YourTube?

It works as it should on my iphone... search for a video, tap on the video, select download in normal quality/high quality and it starts downloading. When finished I tap the video and there you go. He's not trying to do anything more complex than that....

So, you were saying?

What's wrong with it? It does everything you could want.

You are able to download high quality videos over 3G that you would not normally get with the built in app. You can't watch them live, but you can once it's finished.

I like the fact it stores them as MP4 and you can FTP them off the iPhone too.

No, but YourTube is better. YourTube is almost the same as MxTube, but it works within the YouTube application itself. It adds a download button to every video you watch, with high and low quality.

But it's not free. Why pay $2 for something that is essentially the same. If you don't like two icons then hide youtube.app and use MXTUBE instead.
