This crap gets really really old annoying and how could it be necessary--every time they tighten up 5 other things won't work..not doing a thing for p.r.-most annoying- safari new pages will not open- some graphics won't fill in- when it and if it does open...
youtube will not play..
doesn't look like it it is going to be fixed anytime soon --been going on for more than a week so moving to firefox and chrome second choice that is just like saying "here I am kill me"
I have really good luck with TOR ...slow but gets what I AM AFTER...I am becoming less and less of apple guy

Try creating a new user account, login to the new user and see if the videos play in the Safari from the new user account.

I don't see how you having a problem that's specific to your computer making you "less of apple guy". If every problem with every product I've had in my lifetime made me less of a ___ guy I couldn't use any computer OS or even eat food.

I'm on the latest version of macOS and no problems with Safari or YouTube at all. I'm guessing you tried the basics like clearing the cache? I use Firefox for my general web browsing because it allows ad blocking and I love the picture in picture feature.

The issues i've had with Safari and YouTube are numerous over the past couple of years. i had to deal with several months of videos giving stream errors on multiple macs, or needing to be clicked twice to start. Sometimes clearing all browsing data/cookies/everything will fix it but not consistently.

Creating a new user account specifically allows you to troubleshoot without changing anything with your current account.

Thank you all,--I insist that I am not going to debug apples inferior rollouts ...been there done that- a lot....

ms edge seems to be the right response to this problem at this time.

Thank you for that information--

next burr in my behind is Gmail...the main thing has been surveillance-- but now it a real hassle if you use vpn's etc...

so looking for Gmail replacement free secure encrypted and allows several ...several email addresses-of course I have looked at most ..but not for 6 or so weeks this stuff changes every 20 seconds..I like tutanota, proton, mail but they lack the versatility of gmail-we pay for that versatility with surveillance etc..and a limited number of addresses

who likes that surveillance

so you came on here to...state your problem, but not take any suggestions on how to pinpoint & possible solve it?

....why?

I understand the OP frustration about this problem. Some people seem to start threads only to rant and waste bandwidth on this forum. Hence, the OP words dont want to troubleshootg...not my job.

no I have to much non apple adblockers etc vpn ya know why??--I want to actually block unwanted unneeded and unappreciated advs-etc

yeh FF ..but because safari is crap they did an update yesterday I think...that most likely will fix two problems generate 15 more the usual strategy -let the users test it.. thanks for the comment yes ff is great--(er) than safari
