Just got this keyboard in today, charging up now will hope to get charged and give my impressions hopefully by tonight. At first glance, its a pretty nice looking case, and feels quite nice. Keys are a wee bit cramped but then again I did opt for the 7 and not to full size 9, so I knew it would be. Seems usable though.
First thoughts.....
At first the keys seem a little cramped but this s not so hard to get
used to. I can easily type with minimal mistakes. It has all of the
appropriate ipad "hot" keys. The only real oddities are that there
are some items like " and + that you need to hold the shift and fn key
to type it out. This could slow you down a bit when tap typing. I
dont find it too cumbersome though, but I could see where some may.
The enter key is a little small but again, I didnt find it too
difficult to hit consistently.
The ipad mini sits recessed inside the case so there is room for the
keyboard to lay flush. One negative I did find was that when you turn
the keyboard around like a book the bluetooth connection remains so
you will undoubtedly hit keys which can get annoying.
Overall, I think I will keep this keyboard but mainly use it in travel
situations. One thing others may consider as well is to cut the
keyboard off from the upper case, as the keyboard is super ultra thin
and you could effectively use whatever case your mini is in as a
stand.
I got this case for $50 after Zagg's Black Friday sale so well worth
it in my opinion, $89.99 is probably a bit high. Hope this helps
anyone mulling decisions. I can't get pics uploaded today, maybe sometime tomorrow....
