Hi there.

After I jailbroke my iPhone 5 I installed Zephyr and immediately started to see some weird bugs in the Messages.app—if I swipe up to see the multitasking bar in landscape mode I see things like this:

I contacted the developer but honestly I received a very poor feedback to say the least.

Is anybody else seeing the same problem?

No problems here. Can't see your links, but Zephyr is working fine for me.

Are you using a cracked version?

Zephyr also worked fine with both Auxo and Switchy for me (currently on switchy).

Maybe try removing via cydia, and reinstalling. Or maybe a reboot.

Nope, no cracked apps.

I removed and then reinstalled Zephyr, but the issue still persists. As I said, all I need to do to get this bug is to open the multitasking bar in landscape mode while I'm using Messages.

Hopefully now you can see the pictures:

That is really strange. I can't replicate this bug on my device. I'm on a 4S on 6.1. I'll mess around and see if I can replicate it. What other tweaks do you have installed? Springtomize is having issues with the multitasking tray in landscape. An update has been submitted to Cydia and should be available later today or early tomorrow. There are also a couple other tweaks that have known issues with Zephyr that are currently being fixed and should be updated in the next day or two. I don't remember off hand but I can go back to Twitter and double check since that's where I read about the compatibility issues.

I'm standing my ground saying both Auxo and Zephyr are unstable tweaks.

But still, I'm using them.

On the topic of zephyr, it was killing the battery life on my iPhone 5. I removed it and battery usage has returned to normal.

I actually got halfway through posting about some zephyr/messages issues the other day but I was on my phone and couldn't select a prefix (bit annoying).

The issues I get is that when I'm viewing a conversation thread (viewing the list of conversations), I can't use any gestures at all. Anyone else have this problem?

(Also OP can't see your attachments)

EDIT: If it matters I'm on a 5 with 6.1, auxo and a few other tweaks

Zephyr is THE ONLY tweak that I've installed. The thing is that as soon as I jailbroke my phone and installed Zephyr I started to see this weird bug (which actually makes sense since there is no multitasking bar in landscape mode by default—I mean in an untouched OS).

Also I wrote to the developer, but all I've got was a short answer from a stupid Jobs-wannabe saying something like "Zephyr cannot affect what is shown inside the Messages app. That issue is unrelated to Zephyr."

Personally I think Zephyr is pointless anyway, you can replicate pretty much all it can do for free with Activator and default multi gestures. It wasn't needed in iOS5 and its still not needed in 6, it was a con being charged for it to be honest, pretty much like most other paid tweaks on Cydia these days, worthless. I haven't even bothered reinstalling it since upgrading to iOS6.

Yes it's true you can use activator for the slide in gesture to open the multitasking tray. But you need to set up all of the slide from bottom of screen gestures to get the same effect as Zephyr. I have tried using activator instead of Zephyr but Zephyr is just so much more fluid and natural feeling. For whatever reason, it would take multiple swipes to get activator to recognize the gesture plus you have to find the correct spot. Zephyr works anywhere along the bottom of the screen. Plus I love the app to app swipe gestures on the left and right sides, again working anywhere on the sides. On top of all that, I prefer the way Zephyr exposes the notification center over the stock method because with Zephyr I can quickly peek at the top of my notification center to see my important notifications whereas the stock method requires me to swipe all the way down. Obviously these are minor differences and this is just my opinion. I have tried using Activator with Flowtation to mimic Zephyr but they just don't come close to replacing it correctly. Zephyr does all of these things so much better. I hear where you're coming from though. I'm sure there are many people who use these 2 tweaks as work arounds. Swiping from app to app is awesome especially when I'm doing something that requires me to be switching back and forth quickly. A perfect example is when I'm logging into a website and I need to get my password from the 1Password app and then I need to get the randomly generated passcode from the Google Authenticator app. For me, all of this is so much easier and fluid with Zephyr installed.

On a side note, the dev of Zephyr just tweeted that he just finished an update that adds "something cool to Zephyr" and it also includes bug fixes. So to anyone who is experiencing issues, hopefully this update will resolve them.

I added something cool to Zephyr today (and fixed a few bugs). Update coming soon!

Thank you! I felt like Zephyr caused battery drain for me too, but I wasn't sure. I'm going to uninstall and see what happens.

Damn! I just paid $5.00 for this too!

Activator has all the swiping gestures?!?

Default iOS multi gesture (i.e. not activator) for task switching between apps is swipe four fingers left or right anywhere on the screen. To close an app you use a four finger pinch, again a default gesture I beleive.

It does. But the swipe from bottom action is no where near as responsive as the zephyr one. You can't do the same thing basically. Activator is good with status bar actions though.

That's for the iPad. We don't have any gestures on the iPhone.

I did see one YouTube vid of a guy that modded his phone to use iPad gestures. He went inside a file and changed some strings. Don't remember how.

Pointless update. Nobody can use four fingers in such a small screen. And if you can, you'll now it's impossibly difficult and uncomfortable to do.

Guess what btw... I still have this bug after the update. Gosh.

Multi gesture was a hidden feature for the iPhone in ios 4.1. It was awkward but useful if your home button was failing. The feature was removed in ios 5.

Did you pay for the tweak or did you use a pirated version? As for insulting chpwn, do you know who he is? I don't see how that reply is a "Jobs-wannabe".

Just remove the tweak and continue life.

I'm sure it's for landscape mode. I don't see why you're complaining.

I can't view any of your images, so I don't know what the bug is that you're looking at.

As I said before: YES, I bought the tweak.

Regarding your second question: nope. I don't know him and I'm not interested in reading his biography to be honest. I just want every developer to respect their customers.

Probably you don't see anything because that's only a little part of all the messages. Anyway, I won't go deeper into this since it's not decent to public private emails and it's kind of off-topic.

And happily I'd remove the tweak and continue life if I receive some refund. But as I won't receive anything, the only thing that I ask for is a decent answer and an update fixing the problem.

Without Chpwn there wouldn't be a few jailbreaks out so quickly, like JailbreakMe.

Who types in landscape mode? I never seen anyone on an iPhone use that feature. Why don't you remove Zephyr and see if it continues to do that? Because honestly, it doesn't look like Zephyr is creating it.

I type in landscape from time to time and can't replicate this issue either. Have you been able to find anyone that can replicate it? Definitely seems odd since you only have this tweak. Any issue without zephyr?

Zephyr nasty bug

Yeah, sure. Typing in landscape mode is so uncommon and nobody does that to the point that you never saw anyone using it.

I use it all the time because I found it to be 100 times more comfortable than typing in portrait mode, specially if you have big hands. I don't think I'm the only one on earth doing that.

About your question, I'll try to explain this clearly again.

iOS doesn't include a multitasking bar in landscape mode by default. If you press the home button twice while you are using, let's say, Messages.app in landscape mode, you will see the regular multitasking bar at the left of the screen in this case.

Now, Zephyr allows me to see a multitasking bar at the bottom of the screen in landscape mode. Since that's a feature only added by this app and I don't have any other tweak, there is no way of replicating the bug without Zephyr—and it's the same reason why I know that this tweak has some to do with it.

Maybe you need some screenshot of my settings in order to replicate the bug...

Seems like you're the only one with this issue, even the developer stated it wasn't caused by Zephyr.
