As of now, the mac download is down. Does anyone have another link for 3.0

Thanks

why does everyone hate ziphone?

I don't think anyone hates it but there are programs that are a lot safer like iliberty+ because it writes in 2 phases whereas ziphone writes everything in one which could cause problems (someone correct me if I'm wrong) . If you have noticed some of the ziphone threads started in the last few days people are saying there iphones froze while they were using it or they got an error.

I don't trust him or his code. There are a lot of reasons- ZiPhone is hobbled together from stolen code and sloppy code, it changes your MAC address to his name, its damaged some bootloaders. That's just a few.

Ya but I've jailbroken two iPhones in the last couple of days and have been in and out in less than a minute.

Personally for me I don't care if he "stole" code as it doesn't effect me.

But the fact is that ZiPhone is unsafe - as hypmatize says it does everything in one go which is very dangerous when your unlocking your phone as if anything fails (and trust me it does happen!) then you risk having a broken phone.

ZiPhone can also cause your phone to fail randomly weeks after using it when you thought everything was correct. It can also break your wi-fi - this is quite common and the devteam came up with a way to fix it but it doesn't fix it everytime so you may still end up with no wi-fi. And then there is the old bootloader problem although BootNeuter can now fix that problem.

Basically ZiPhone can cause any number of problems and its not worth risking your expensive phone with when there are other safer options out there - it is simply a question of risk. There is no doubt ziphone IS the easiest method to use but that makes it even more dangerous because it means people use it without being aware of its problems just because its the easiest.

And of course when the people who have no idea what it even does do end up with broken phones they have even less clue how to fix it IF it is fixable...

So to sum up - ZiPhone is a great idea - its technique is used by other unlocking methods as well but its very unstable very unsafe and although 9 out of 10 people will be fine with it ...

Do you want to be the one that turns out with a broken phone?

That is the risk of using ZiPhone.
