I would like to jailbreak my 8gb iPhone that is currently running 1.1.4, but I don't need to unlock it, I'm happy with AT&T. All I want to be able to do is play the NES emulator and make the icons look different and such. I heard some of these installs are permanent and will not uninstall. Which of the jailbreaks available is the easiest and will work flawlessly on 1.1.4?

pwnagetool is the safest and most recommended. iliberty is also made by the dev team. don't use ziphone as i hear it causes problems.

I was very successful with ZiPhone but i hear it causes many problems so i would not recomend it. Pwnage tool is the safest way to do it, although always be prepared for the worst. Use pwnag tool though.

If you read the pwnage FAQ stickied at the top of the forum you will see pwnage is in beta testing for windows so you can download it AND use it.

However, if your simply looking to jailbreak and add installer I would recommend iLiberty+ just because its a lot easier that pwnage and pwnage gives no real advantage with jailbreaking as it is easily reversed by a restore.

Just download iLiberty+ from www.ipluspwns.com and select "installer" and "BSD subsystem" from the advanced menu and click on "go for it" and it will jailbreak your phone and add installer.

"Jailbreak" is automatically selected so you don't have to touch that!

iLiberty+ is the updated version of iPlus so you know!

There is a nice simple tutorial for iLiberty on www.hackthatphone.com (although all tutorials show the unlock process but if you select what I told you to then you will be fine!).

Thanks spinstorm! I'm downloading iLiberty+ right now. Hooray!

Darn! www.ipluspwns.com is down and I'm not able to download it! Is there anywhere else that has this for download?
