I'd like to jump in, if I may, and ask a couple of quick questions:

1)I have unlocked, activated and jail-broken my 1.1.4 1stGen iPhone using Ziphone. I hope to upgrade to 2.0.0 and use the new pwnagetool to do the same (when it is released). Is this possible? I know pwnagetool will be able to jailbreak the new 2.0 firmware, but can it unlock and activate also? I was also wondering if there would be any conflict having used Ziphone previously?

2) I read in a few places that installer.app should be installed during Ziphone's jailbreak/unlock/activate process. Ziphone 3.0 did all the important stuff, but installer has not appeared on my home screen. I am keen to get installer.app working so any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Thanks again and good work!

1) As long as you restore your iPhone to a factory setting you should be fine. We don't know whether or not it'll unlock and activate at this point.

2) Pwnage should install it. If not, there are ways to do it.

isn't jailbreakme.com for only 1.0.2 or 1.1.1?
it won't work for 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 or 2.0 (duh for 2.0)
correct me if im wrong.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering about. I would have expected to see something about it not being compatible with 1.1.4 though. So any ideas how to get installer on a 1.1.4 iphone?

You are correct, as 1.1.3 fixed the TIFF exploit that allowed Jailbreakme.com to do its thang.

As per the original thread question you should be fine. I've swapped between both iPwnage and ZiPhone on my phone several times without issue, although the new one could have some tricks up its sleeve. You're best off waiting a day or two to see what problems other folks have.

Major Problem - Iphone Stuck In Recovery Mode

Hi chaps,

I'm really hoping someone can help me here:
I was looking for a way to install installer.app on my 1.1.4 iphone and followed madgunde's advice given here:
http://www.ehmac.ca/ipod-itunes-iph...-can-i-get-installer-app-my-1-1-4-iphone.html

Well, I wish I didn't as my iphone is now stuck in recovery mode. When I open itunes it says "this iphone must be restored before it can be used with iTunes". After I click ok to that and try to restore with iTunes I get the following (worrying) message:
"Software for this iPhone is not currently available. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and try again." I am using itunes 7.6.2 (so it doesnt update to firmware 2.0).

My iPhone's fate lies with you guys. Many thanks.

Ziphone 1.1.4 Unlocking

I'm in desperate need of help please! I unlocked and jailbroke an iPhone 1.1.4 with ziphone 3.0. It installed and everything seemed fine. The Ziphone and Installer App appeared on the home screen. I then sold the phone to someone who is using Rogers but they are telling me that the phone says "no service" when they put the SIM card in the phone. If I have them run ziphone again, preferably in the "advanced" menu and only checking the box marked "unlock phone to be used with any carrier" can any damage be done to the phone? I appreciate any advice from you guys! Thank you!

not tahat i know off, then again i ve never used ziphone, i always use ijailbreak.com works lieka charms, already used it in more than 5 iphones 1.1.4:cool:
