Ok about two weeks ago I sold my iPhone, planned on getting a 3G one. However, after the keynote today I decided to repurchase an old iPhone (won't go into the why). However, the one I purchased is new but has been unlocked with ZiPhone. I have never unlocked an iPhone and plan to use it on my At&t network. So I was wondering how I can virginize it to factory settings.

Here are the details: it has firmware version 1.1.3 and would have come with 4.6BL. So what are the steps to return it to original condition.

Sorry, if this has already been answered, I have searched for a couple hours and could not find a solid answer. If it has been answered can you please direct me to the correct post.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry...I'm not sure what you mean. The phone I will be getting is new (the seller only opened it to unlock it), so I will be getting the factory sim card with it. So do I just restore with the factory sim card in it...Do I need to worry about the Bootloader. If it matters, I will be creating an entirely new At&t account when I activate it.

yeah its the sim card that you need to sign to your account.

I think if you try to register it as a new iPhone to take over your old AT&T account then you should be good (though first you will need to restore it via iTunes)

If I were you, I would use the Pwnage tool, download the Bootneuter app and restore your firmware to 1.1.4 and your Bootloader the 4.6

Ok I think I've got it but let me run this by anyone available.

1. DFU & restore to 1.1.4
2. Install BootNeuter
3. Run BootNeuter to return to 4.6BL
4. Restore w/ iTunes

Does that sound right?
