Hi. Can someone who doesn't mind please post some easy steps on how to use ZiPhone and what it basically does (I'm a complete novice to all this unlocking)? If I were to use it will I still need to wait for a ZiPhone update until I can install the latest iPhone firmware? How do the other and more common iPhone unlocking solutions work? I am planning on buying an iPhone when I go the U.S. in about a week and then use it when I'm back home in the U.K. If I use ZiPhone or another unlocking solution will my sim card still work in it?
Thanks.

ZiPhone has come out with revisions almost daily, and there are plenty of step-by-step guides, but the short of it is that you can take a OOTB 1.1.3 iPhone and activate, jailbreak, and/or unlock it with ZiPhone. You can also do the same with any phone that has been upgraded to 1.1.3 with iTunes.

There are some concerns around older phones where older versions of ZiPhone won't unlock them. There are also concerns were newer versions of ZiPhone (2.0) are downgrading the bootloader which may be difficult to re-upgrade if necessary.

There are currently several active threads on all of these topics.
