What is the difference between the two? They do the same thing right? A gui for jailbreaking and unlocking?

for the most part yes, but i heard more success stories using ijailbreak so i chose that one and successfully unlocked and jailbroke two iphones going form 1.1.1. to 1.1.3 and youtube and locate me both work.

I used ZiPhone on my 1.1.1 to go to 1.1.3 with the GUI for OSX and no problems at all...

So quick and easy and everything works.

ZiPhone includes Apple copyrighted material (that is, a modded ramdisk). The Devteam never did nor will distribute a tool with Apple copyrighted data. Use whatever works for you though :p

i used ijailbreak and youtube does not work. is this common? should i go back and use ziphone?

I might be wrong but isn't iJailbreak, basically, just a front end for ZiPhone with some minor changes.

I've used both and they work as well as each other.

THis is encouraging! I went through all the early unlocks and eventually found a happy resting place in 1.1.1 sim unlocked and on Vodafone with fun 3rd party apps.

If it so easy to go to 1.1.3 I may go ahead. Has anyone heard about iphonesimfree working with the update to 1.1.3? I know it doesn't update the baseband so should be alright, right?

helped my GF with her 1.1.3 OTB iPhone unlock with ZiPhone unlock and everythings working fine ( she's on T-Mobile )

I used Ziphone to unlock to iPhones last night and everything went smoothly. Everything works too, including YouTube and Locate Me.

thats what i was thinking. but why would we need them both?

ZiPhone worked for me on my PC. Initially, map locator didn't work but installing Navicon and running it once fixed it, then I deleted Navicon. I went from a 1.1.2 OTB and I now have a 1.1.3 unlocked and Jailbroken. I'll wait for the 3G iPhone to come out, give this one to my wife since she is still on T-Mobile. :)

yeah well i used iJailbreak because i had a shackled 1.1.3, and i thought ZiPhone was to update to 1.1.3 from a lower FW and stay jailbroken. is this correct? otherwise i would have used ZiPhone and have all my features work
