Zoom in on multiple images

Hey everyone

I need to do a presentation of some stuff I am working on and I thought of one really useful but also cool feature. Problem: I don't know how to do it...

In principle I have multiple images of some region in the sky with a lot of stars. One image is very wide and shows a large portion of the sky in low resolution. The next is smaller and shows a medium size region (with medium resolution) and the last one is very small and only shows a tiny region in very high resolution.

Basically I want to overlay them and then make a zoom video from all the way out to the highest resolution.

Does anyone know how to do such things? I would have Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator at my disposal, but maybe there are some other tools that can do this.

This would be fairly simple to do in After Effects. You could start with your first image and scale and adjust the opacity to simulate a zoom into your second image, etc.

The application is a bit different as this is showing a zoom in to Earth from outer space using images from Google Maps, but the concepts and techniques will give you a pretty good idea of how to accomplish what you're wanting to do.

This seems actually pretty easy with After effects, but I don't have access to the software...but thanks a lot for this video!!

If Adobe is still doing demo versions that are fully functional for 30 days you might be able to use something like that
