If anyone here has a DTK, can they please try zoom and see if it will work? I am getting an apple silicon mac and won't be able to get any good use out of it if it won't run through rosetta 2.

There's lots of reasons changing architectures would break something, even with a translation layer. Since it's a #1 priority app for a lot of people right now, it plays a big part in purchase decisions.

Apple has a screenshot of Zoom running on the new MacBook Air on their product page. I think it is safe to say it will work fine.

Zoom crashed on Big Sur update today, (It crashed and the icons didn’t show up, but the areas were clickable.)

But,I installed latest Zoom version and it worked fine.
