IMO I wouldn't use it. It's just a digital zoom. You're better off cropping in post processing.

I agree. Digital zoom makes the image look terrible, even by snap shot standards.

Why "better"? Post-processing takes more time, and I doubt that cropping will produce a significantly better picture than digital zoom.

Post can be a pain, but you will get a MUCH better picture.
