I’ve just heard that my lectures will be conducted over zoom from this week.
Has anyone got some experience in using zoom with Picture in Picture?
It would be nice to use just one device to partake in the lectures and write my notes at the same time.

Thanks in advance.

Does Zoom even support Picture in Picture yet?

Zoom is just ok on an iPad. It doesn't really support multitasking, so as soon as you move to another app, it shuts off the camera. And you don't get all the features as you do on a desktop/laptop.

This is one of my grudges against iPad. I'm hoping with Apple Silicon that we can use desktop apps on the iPad.

It may not work for your personal preference, but I use Notes with slide over during any video conference call.

Yeah, same like when using Google Meet. But wondering does it makes any difference if we use the services with Safari / web based?

But Apple Silicon will make it easier to use mobile apps on the Macs, not the other way around I guess.

I'm not sure if we can run Zoom on the web. It always prompts me to open the app on my iPad. Can anyone confirm?

And that stinks to hear about Silicon being used from mobile to desktop and not the other way around....

I’m not bothered by my camera not being on during the zoom call, if receiving audio works over AirPods and I can see the lecture screen using PiP I’d be quite happy.
If I have to join from my laptop they can’t see me anyway as I disconnected the webcam when upgrading the RAM.

Maybe it is just me and my eye issues but would you be able to see properly on the small screen to take notes?

I de-installed Zoom on my iPad = so I cannot test to tell you how it would behave in terms of PIP. My company advised us to not use the Zoom app, but to use zoom in web only because it seems that it is not super secure.

I did alright with the Microsoft tutorials I watched recently, I can’t read the words but can hear the conversation which is more important.

I don’t get why they have switched to zoom, especially with it being the running joke of the security industry this year.

I can run Google Meet on the web, even when it tries to prompt me to open the app. But haven’t got the chance to try it on Zoom calls lately.
