ZumoCast lacks subtitles
I have been using AirVideo and found it to work very well. Very reliable and gets the job done without too much fuss.
I tried ZumoCast recently and like the interface much better actually. It is even more no-nonsense. I like the lack of advanced options that you will never know how or when to use anyway.
An example is that AirVideo has an option to use live convertion or view directly (for media types that your iOS supports directly). I do not known which I want and do not care. I prefer the program to do a good choise for me.
BUT I actually had to reject ZomoCast because of two things: Apparently it does not support subtitles (srt or sub). And second I could not get the "remote" play to work. It said that everything was ok but when on the road I could never connect to my home iMac. I tried several different places with WiFi (non-public) and 3G.
ZumoCast is free so I would say that if it fullfills your needs there is no reason to look any further.
Oh I did think ZumoCast accessed the disks a lot (indexing it wrote in its menu once in a while), but I am not sure.
