LG 43SQ700S Monitor, can't get 4K 60Hz RGB or YCbCr4:4:4
Hi, I recently Prime-Day bought a new-for-2023 4K LG 43" "SMART Display" monitor (43SQ700S) and have it connected to a 13" MacBook Pro, 2020 model with the quad-core i7, 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports. Why is getting 4K YCbCr444 @ even 60Hz so difficult?
A lot of discussion exists on getting 4K @ 60 or 120Hz with 10-bit HDR and 4:4:4 chroma subsampling (YCbCr444) with an external monitor, but seemingly mostly on the M1 forums. 2018 mini: 4K 4:4:4@60Hz via HDMI
Has anyone gotten 4K 4:4:4@60Hz via HDMI to work on the 2018 Mac mini? I can get 4:4:4@30Hz. Or, I can get 60Hz but it's not 4:4:4. I wonder if the HDMI port on the 2018 Mac mini isn't capable of 4K 4:4:4@60Hz. If not, has anyone tried a USB-C to HDMI adapter? Sorry if this has been covered...
