Hello,
i want to show a way how to rebuild or update the bootrom of Mac Pro 4.1 and 5.1 on your own, using complete pre-build bootrom templates without individual data.
Some members won’t be happy bunnies about that and may try to delete the topic, but i’ll publish it on other platforms. I’m...
Hello all,

I just woke this mornig with an idea, like to poll the interest for an opensource project for solving NVRAM / BootROM headaches and accelerate BootROM / UEFI / GPU Rom / GOP developments.
There are so many users around doing critical NVRAM / GPU card flashing which costs a lot of time while...

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to update EFI firmware (BootROM, iBridge) of my T2 Intel Mac without updating macOS. This cannot be done using regular Terminal methods (efiupdater and eficheck Terminal tools do not support T2-equipped Intel Macs). According to this article firmware on all...
Hello,
Is there some way to update EFI firmware (BootROM & iBridge) without updating macOS Big Sur or macOS Monterey on an Intel Mac with T2 chip? Mac is capable of running macOS Catalina.
I have already tried installing FirmwareUpdate.pkg using a well-known method by Pepijn Bruienne. That PKG...
After having issues with my MP5.1 and it not playing the chime anymore, I followed @tsialex instructions and desoldered the SPI flash, then dumped the BootROM. My plan was to verify and flash the dump or reconstruct if corrupted. I extracted the NVRAM section and it still has SON and UUID...
Sorry for a lengthy post. This is an uncommon situation for most people so please read only if the topic particularly interests you.
I bought a used MacBook Air 7,2 (MBA1) last summer, which came with no SSD. I thought it was no biggie because it was my plan to install an M.2 NVMe SSD anyway...
UPDATE/FIX: The OEM SSD I bought (Toshiba 661-7459 for MbAir 13-14) was not compatible with my MP6,1. Replaced it with a Samsung SSAUX 661-8136 and was able to update the firmware, allowing me to install the EVO as APFS. Not sure if dosdude1 installation broke anything in the first place...
Besides switching back to the OEM SSD just to update the EFI firmware. Are there other workarounds? Opening the iMac for each OS Update that requires an updated BootROM will be a pain.
If my boot drive is an External NVMe SSD (ex: Samsung X5) will I ever have problems with the BootROM when...
Hi, I am planning to upgrade the SSD on my Mac Pro 2013 (trashcan) with a third party NVME drive and all of them seems to require to have the latest Boot ROM version / SMC version in order to work properly with the machine. My system is showing Boot ROM Version: 130.0.0.0.0 and SMC Version...
I started to upgrade the system from 10.13.6 to 10.14, the bootrom showed 138.0.0.0.0. Later I clicked on the mojave upgrade, the system became 10.14.4, but my bootrom still stayed at 138.0.0.0.0. I need to manually upgrade. Bootrom?
Thank you for your help.
Hi, I wanted bootable NVMe and Nvidia support, and I knew the 387.10.10.10.40.122 drivers worked OK on 10.13.6 so didn't think anything of applying the prerequisite Mojave firmware 140.0.0.0... then when I tried to install the drivers (using the nvidia-update script on github) it said that there...
