Question: what would you do, or suggest?
I purchased a brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max thru Apple on Friday (3 days ago); I picked it up on Saturday at my local Apple Store, and put in in a nice BullStrap leather case & screen protector right away (I protect my equipment like one of my children) -...
I've been researching this extensively but haven't found a definitive answer. I own an iPhone 15 Pro and I'm interested in understanding which focal lengths utilize optical zoom rather than digital zoom. Additionally, I'm curious about the camera capabilities of the iPhone 15 Pro Max in this regard.
My days old iPhone 15 Plus developed three faults in what seemed like a production failure.
1. The main camera wouldn’t focus. (The wide angle camera was fine)
2. Landscape rotation failed.
3. After a Genius Bar visit their tests showed the accelerometer had also failed.
The Genius Bar staff...
There have been some useful discussions here about optical zoom on the iPhone 15 pro Max, but I think I have a more specific question. If you open the “wheel”, i.e. by holding your finger on one of the focus buttons, if you rotate the entire wheel is it sitting in optical all the way 0.5x until...
Hullo,
I just traded in iPhone 14 Pro Max to the equivalent iPhone 15 Pro Max. A few days ago, I tried to take a telephoto shot of the moon. I was able to do this with the 14 Pro Max, but I am having trouble with the 15 Pro Max moonshot. The camera/app refused to properly focus on the moon...
I'm taking a fresh look, as I prepare to transition to an iPhone 15 Pro Max; do most people accept the default HEIF?
HEIF (High Efficiency) vs JPG (Most Compatible)
Does HEIF still have significant compatibility barriers, when sharing photos?
I'm not expecting any fixes from the forum, but putting this out in case others experience the issue. I took several photos yesterday throughout the day. At dinner, six photos in a row did not save. I noticed after the second attempt that it wasn't saving. I showed my wife and tried a few more...
Hi all!
I've been using iPhone 11 Pro Max for the last three years and this piece of hardware has given me so many great moments, did almost everything I ever wanted from it and all that while looking extremely good all the time :) I love photography and mainly shoot JPEG's + doing some editing...
I notice this issue on some photos when I use square aspect (I do 99% of the time) where the images will be cropped inside a black larger empty photo, has anyone ran into this issue yet? Id assume its software related but if its just me I may just do a quick software refresh. the way to fix the...
According to this article, iPhone 15 Pro's 24-megapixel photos are better than 48-megapixel shots. I’m confused by this. Does this apply to just HEIF format or HEIF and RAW?

Hı my friends, for people who don't play games, using the phone to talk and text, take family and class photos/videos and use it with a Macbook, is the iPhone se 2022 enough or should the iPhone 13 be preferred? I loved the iPhone SE, but everyone is telling me to buy the 13. I have to work for...
For setting up my new phone, some bank apps needs to upload on ID document (NIF). For this, they use their own app. The problem is, third party apps (not all of them, like Amazon) do not automatically switch to the ultra angular lens for close up photos, and so can't scan the document.
One app...
Hi.
I’ve been thinking of upgrading my iPhone 11 - camera is main reason - and have been carefully reviewing the camera specs of the 15, 15 pro and 15 pro max.
As far as I can tell (watched the Special Event several times to be sure) the 3x optical zoom on the 15 and 15 pro is just a crop of...
Is anybody else annoyed that the new photo processing features coming to the base iPhone 15 are not coming to last year's Pro models?
In the context of their loooong environmental segment, I find it especially galling. They say they want to have as little impact on the environment as possible...
Doing some research I think that Apple was very misleading about the main camera on iPhone 15 Pros saying it has a larger sensor.
It is indeed the very same of 14 Pros, it is larger only when compared to iPhone 15's main camera because these have a true new sensor never seen previously which...
I like to take images that look like what I see – and so far my only way of reliably doing that is by just not using my iPhone 14 Pro, but using my iPad Pro instead. But this is really not a great solution, and I hate to own a $1000+ device with a camera this bad.
I've tried using Rich...
Has anyone else noticed the inconsistent interaction between Apple Watch's camera remote app and iPhone's camera app?
If the iPhone is locked(A) or the camera app was opened after unlocking the phone(B) and then you open the camera remote app on the Apple Watch, you can preview what the camera...
I have seen this in the Home app but have never seen it before? There seems to be the ability to talk through HomeKit cameras. I can’t get it to work unfortunately. I use eufy cameras and the ability to speak through the camera was only previously available through the eufy app.
I'm a tech kinda guy who's been interested in photography for a while but honestly I've been too intimidated to take the plunge. I've been reading articles for months now, looking at posts in this forum lately, and constantly trying to keep up with The Verge camera articles while I build up the...
iOS/iPadOS: Settings > Camera > Lens Correction (Correct lens distortion on the front and Ultra Wide cameras).
With the setting enabled, when editing these photos in Lightroom, I can still apply lens corrections. Is the lens correction in Lightroom needed?
