iMac 8.1 doesn't boot, plays partial chime

Macpostfactor boot loop creating recovery
I'm trying to install Mountain Lion using MacPostFactor on my MBP2,2. Whenever I try to boot into it, it brings up a window that says "Creating MacPostFactor recovery (small)" then it reboots after about 15 seconds. It boot loops and does this repeatedly. My iMac completely ignores when I hold down alt at boot
I've tried two wired keyboards, one of them Apple, but it just goes straight to the internal SSD. No options. How do I fix this? It's a 27 inch 2009 model, feel free to move this to 'Early Intel' if needed. Thanks!! x- Heeheeriah
