Hey all,

My old 2008 iMac has suddenly stopped booting correctly. When I press the power button, it only plays a partial chime and then shuts down completely. To make it chime again, I have to disconnect and reconnect the power.

I tried removing both memory sticks, but it just beeps repeatedly every few seconds.

Here's a video showing the issue: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AoZn1lu7KuaWjVdP4HOPHg1kVI2G?e=xMxAnL

Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

My bet would be on a bad/failing power supply. It may also be a logic board issue. I would also try different memory, though I don't know how much that would help. Never seen something like this before.
