Hello everyone!
I have a 13" MacBook Pro from mid-2012 (2.9 GHz Intel Core i7 dual-core; 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3) and I'm undecided on which macOS will be best. As the last natively compatible version is Catalina - a now-discontinued software, with no more security updates and some...
I'm hoping to move some of my large video files off of my Mac SSD and onto an external SSD. My question is regarding the behavior of Time Machine. I keep my backups on a second SSD strictly for Time Machine, and I'm curious if my backed up files will remain on my Time Machine SSD after deleting...
I've had a Sandisk 500gb drive that I've used as a time machine backup drive for about 4 years. Recently, I upgraded to a 14" MBP w/ M1 Pro. Since using the new computer, Time Machine worked for some time then stopped working for some reason. It was also interesting that for a long time, I had...
I'm using `Ventura 13.4.1 (c)`, on a number of Macs.
All MacBook Pro laptops, I change my network settings regularly for work (DNS, etc). For some reason on one of the Macs I get this popup each time I even open network settings, without making a change, just by pressing "OK".
I'm the owner...
I have a 2021 Apple MacBook Pro (16-inch, Apple M1 Pro chip with 10‑core CPU and 16‑core GPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) and after installing Ventura Version 13.5 Beta (22G5072a) I have no picture on my screen. I am able to work via an external monitor but can't get to the boot options on the external...
Sonoma Public Beta is running smoothly and issue free for me, but I feel like maaaaybe the battery life took a hit on my M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16". I could be wrong, it could be just that I'm paying more attention to it.
So, how is your battery life?
Besides VM state handling and resizable desktops, has anyone noticed any differences/improvements with Apple‘s Virtualization Framework in macOS Sonoma?
I foolishly believed Apple that Ventura is nice, so I upgraded not making time machine backup prior to that. Little did I know... Can't believe now how bad it is compared to Monterey!
Now I simply want to get back to Monterey. I know how to do that, but I've got many custom settings and tweaks...
Help. I have a mid-2015 Macbook Pro, OS is Monterey 12.6.7, SSD is 1TB. System Data is taking 459GB, almost half of the SSD. What can I do to reduce System Data? Thanks.
https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/1812i was going through this issue and now according to the last message, it is now possible to get 144hz with intel hackintosh with macos Sonoma Beta 2. Can somebody confirm this in their testing with Intel Macbook also? I cant upgrade macos...
I read somewhere that dark mode was by large the choice of smartphone users (over 80%!).
I find this figure suspiciously very high.
And it has me wonder how many people actually use dark mode on macOS.
I wonder because each time Apple promote macOS or macOS Preview, they have nice light mode...
Any chance macOS 14 allows using the apple password manager on apps like chrome or other web browsers?
I know they have a plug-in for PCs but not for Macs.
Apologies for what's probably going to be a loaded question.
I ended up with a new M2 base Mac mini and after thinking about giving it to a friend/family member or selling it, I'm leaning towards neither option because it doesn't make sense with the formers' current setups, and the resale vale...
Hi all,
First off, apologies if this issue has already been discussed and solved. I did quite a few searches and didn't find anything related to this specific issue I've been having.
I've been running into constant storage issues with my work computer (2020 M1 MBP, Ventura). I'm unfortunately...
Hi all
Apple has mentioned that there are improvements to hybrid and remote workflows:
I have been dreaming of an own Cloud Development setup, where I can have a stationary Mac Studio in the office and a MacBook Air on the go that connects to the Studio remotely.
I haven’t found anything in...
Have any of you realized that the Windows XP hill (the bliss wallpaper) was shot in Sonoma, California, the same place MacOS Sonoma was named after? Was this purposeful? Maybe Apple is making a tribute to Windows XP? Or possibly their “Get a Mac” ad campaign, which started when XP was still the...
The recently introduced aerial dynamic wallpapers with macOS Sonoma are cool but the problem is that they take HUGE amount of disk space (almost 10GB). How can I remove them?
I've tried:
- Right click, ctrl click, tap and hold on the thumbnail in sys settings
- Searching the library folder for...
