...and is a stupid little trendy feature that will be fun in the store for 10 minutes but but when you take it home and never use it and realize it's not worth the extra $600
It's just soooo cheesy to me, like the jar-jar binks of laptops.
I can't even deal with how much of a cheeseball Tim...
It would be nice to have a list of (upcoming) apps which will especially support and take advantage of the new Touch Bar.
Apart from the obvious Apple apps, this is what we know at the moment:
- 1Password
- Pixelmator
- Adobe Photoshop
- MS Office 2016
- DJay

Looking to buy something new. Debating between new MacBook Pro 13in with Touch Bar or 9.7in iPad Pro. I currently have a late 2010 MacBook Pro 13in and a 3rd gen iPad. I'm not looking for a computer replacement. I would ditch my current device depending on which new device I purchase.
Hey everyone,
The Verge posted an article about how not all USB-C cables are meeting the USB standards, and how Benson Leung a Google engineer has been testing various cables available on Amazon.
I thought that this would be a useful resource for all of us here as we prepare to receive out new...
I know there is a massive list of USB-C dongles and such, but this is a post that is set up as a wiki so people can add ones they have found that actually work and are available or coming soon. Lets try to stay on topic please :)
Surely battery life would become an issue with the potential for a wired version, or at least a thunderbolt connection option.
Do you think it will happen, why or why not?
I was wondering, now that we've lost Iris Pro as the baseline integrated graphics, how does the performance stack up on day to day usage for the new MacBook Pro 15" with Touch Bar using only integrated graphics Intel HD Graphics 530? I'm not talking about heavy graphics/video editing. Just...
I'm really curious to so how this does or doesn't work in bootcamp. I wonder if Apple will be delivery a driver that will bring similar functionality on the windows 10 side.
If you have any ideas and are able to test it once you receive your machine, please post it here.
This is just a theory of mine. Since the Home button takes up too much space and Apple prefers keeping symmetry between the top and bottom of the iPhone.... what if they added a Touch Bar at the bottom of the phone that took up considerably less space and also included a built in Touch ID sensor...
So having spent a few days now viewing people from the Apple event demoing the touch bar.
I just realized that they tap on each icon to bring up yet another thing to touch. Especially with volume control, to raise or lower the volume, instead of three icons (mute, lower and raise volume)...
Any word or insight when demo's will hit the floors at the stores even if they stay backordered? Would like to test out the touch bar and make sure it's worth the extra $ for 15" display+touch bar instead of 13" base.
Hi there, I am thinking of treating myself with a brand new Apple laptop and saying goodbye to my currently used old MBP (13-inch, mid 2012 model, without Retina and still with CD/DVD drive). As a university student, I will be moving around campus, carrying a laptop to help me with note taking...
I have a 15" 2010 MBpro that can not even play 1080p video without stuttering/freezing. While waiting for a new release, I have been using my iPad to edit photos and make videos which has been tough since I much rather use the laptop.
I ordered the new macbook 15" with 1tb SSD and Iam second...
The touch bar has been getting loads of hate on this site as an "ergonomic nightmare" as some have put it. But every single person that I've shown it to has had the same reaction. They thought it was cool. And that is a difficult reaction to give the public, especially when it comes to...
It's interesting that communication with the Touch Bar is via USB. It seems to me that that would allow for an external keyboard to have a Touch Bar. (A wired one, anyway. Maybe even wireless.)
I wonder if something like this is coming to iMacs in the future. Might also be nice for MacMini and...
All I can think of is how much people were looking forward to Star Wars Episode I and how much of a piece of garbage it was.
Now, thinking about how much all of us were looking forward to this new MacBook Pro only to find out that they just added the glorified touch bar and changed all the...
The bezel on the Touch Bar is proportionally quite large, but the main thing that stands out is the massive space on the left that appears to be so large for the sake of symmetry, although they could have put a physical escape key there!
