dont worry. Keep ur unlocked phone and stay in the stone age and never do updates again. I had several 3rd party apps on my phone and all it did was cause problems and the battery was a problem. I had apple replace my phone and I decided to leave it the way they intended it for and the performance has been a 100% better. It amazes me that people will never update their phone just so they can play nintendo and IM or change the look of it. Apple has changed the way cell phones are made and I know it will only get better with more updates and I know they will have more native apps for it too. I guess there are people that will never be satisfied with what they have and expect to have everything right now instead of being patient with apple. They know what they are doing.

I agree. I played with the idea of jailbreaking my phone when I first got it then realized, quite frankly this phone has everything on it i need. I am to busy all day to check my email muchless play nintendo.

still having issues?

i feel like my battery started to act more normally, then i made the mistake of actually shutting down the phone. since turning it back on, it's like everything's gone back to being strange. the battery barely lasts a day now, and i actually got that weird message that said the phone needed to be plugged in immediately but i never even got a warning about being down to 20% or 10%...

Now that Leopard's out the door, maybe apple will focus on this stuff....

The main point of doing jailbreak is to unlock the phone, without signing the two year rip off contract. I think before the contract ends, apple is going to release a new cellphone already.. Let's say if they go 3g, and you are still stuck in the 2.5g plan. LOL, and when the plan offer, I pay lesser with t mobile. I just think the two year contract just doesn't make any sense...
thanks iPhone dev team to unlock the iPhone..

I trashed the iPhone update files in my library. Did a restore forcing a new download of 1.1.1 and my battery is fixed!! At least the software is reporting my battery life properly. 3.5 plus hours of usage and just under 1/2 battery left. Yippie!! Plus, the phone works better now!

I just started having the same exact problems out of the blue yesterday - even though I've had 1.1.1 since it came out! Only thing I've done differnt is a soft reset of the phone the other day.

Same issues as everyone else... I hardly used the phone, 2 hours of talk time, 20 hours standby, no wifi, and battery is at 10% now. I will try some of the reset fixes suggested here, crossing my fingers.

Update: Tried the restore, charged up my phone, and it seems to have worked... talked on the phone w/ bluetooth for an hour and the battery meter didn't move at all. I'll see what it looks like when I get up in the morning, lol. BTW, my iPhone also feels a lot "snappier" and faster now too.

I've had the battery on my iPhone die on my 3 times in the past month. Today, I charged the phone fully and made 22 minutes of phone calls/checking email. No bluetooth or wireless. I goto make a phone call and the battery is below 20% with only 5 hours of standyby. It was similar the other two times.

I had a 'genuis' look at it after the second time. They restored it there. Obviously that did not work. I'm going back in tomorrow. I want a loaner and a working phone.

I just started having this problem today. I also noticed that 'standby' and 'usage' times were identical. I know for a fact that they used to be different.

Has anyone come up with a solution yet? Genius bar?

I would hate to go and wait at the Genius bar and have them restore my phone and it still not solve the problem........
