That's a shame. If they were, Mac users and Apple in general would have a better reputation.
I agree. Unfortunately, most people just want it to 'work' without having to think about it or without having to do very much to get it going.

A lot of the things we PowerPC users do require us to get our hands dirty. It's either our time or a bit of sweat (sometimes a bit of blood) but we get there. It requires us to think and to have some sort of interest in making things work.

Even if you're just following instructions and not understanding you're still investing time that the average Mac user wouldn't consider spending on a problem.

It is indeed a shame.

On the other hand, in the places where you find a community of PowerPC Mac users you know what it is you're getting. People like yourself who are willing to spend the time it takes to make something work. Making things work in ways they never were intended to work or designed to work.

It's nice to be a part of that because we all collaborate and share.

OK, so, I went through the process of installing Linux, and all went mostly smoothly until I came back into OS X. Linux doesn't show up in Startup Disk and it doesn't show up in the boot menu. (The one with the purple background.)

How do I get into it now? Help.

Hello @z970mp!
Yes I have school and other stuff to do, that's why LeopardRebirth isn't going fast on releases ;)
I'll hope I'll get free time soon so that I can work on the project again and finish things like the PPCStore for normal Leopard and new update system...
If you want to contact me a little faster you can allways email me at:
tom (a@t) leopardrebirth.net
replace the (a@t) with @, I just don't want to get junk mail
[doublepost=1497650014][/doublepost]I'm French and my summer break will start the 7 of July :(

I'm just happy you're alive, ha ha.

July 7th isn't all that far away. Chin up. You'll get there soon.

Very nice work! I've installed this theme on my 12 inch Powerbook G4 and it's pretty spectacular. I've been spending way too much time comparing and replacing icons between my Mac Pro and my Powerbook to get the look as close as possible :D I just need to change the system font now, but the method described in another thread scares me a bit

Im gonna try it on macintosh powerbook g3 :)

Unless you are the owner of a rare G4 upgrade or you're @LightBulbFun, that won't be possible. This theme is for Mac OS X Leopard 10.5. Depending on your PowerBook and if you hacked it or not, you're either running Mac OS X Tiger 10.4 if its a Pismo (bronze keyboard, FireWire), Mac OS X 10.3 Panther if its a Lombard (bronze keyboard, no FireWire), Mac OS 10.2 Jaguar if its a Wallstreet/Mainstreet/PDQ (Rainbow Apple logo inside, white apple logo outside), or Mac OS 9 if you have a rare PowerBook G3 Kanga (No white Apple logo on the outside).

:) Here is the ppc store not modded and extracted from the theme installer tell me if it is not woking NOTE: I did not test it 'cause it need a g4 for that

@AmazingHenry was working on a theme for Tiger, which will work on your G3, but i believe he has since abandoned it, leaving it in an incomplete state.
It's complete, just not as complete as I wanted it.

Extracting the store from the installer doesn't work, SST made it only work if the theme is installed.

stt? and if I can get a g4. one il mod the App Store it to work without a theme if I can it may take some time tho

SourceSunTom. He's the guy who made Leopard Rebirth.

You're only 10. How are you going to modify the App Store to work without the theme installed? Other people much older than you have tried and failed. How are YOU going to make it work?

What do you do with your G3?

@SourceSunTom

It's June 28th now. We're homing in on July 7th, and fast. :D

I still don't think it's actually possible to run Leopard on a Lombard. @LightBulbFun is sure he can get it to work, but I gave up out of frustration and a couple of late evenings(or would that be early mornings GMT) poking around in Open Firmware. We need to get it set up for him to remote in to OF since I get worn out punching in commands.

SST is SourceSunTom, as @z970mp said.

Good luck on modding it. It won't be easy, SST's code is very hidden and closed-source, if those are the right words. If I were you, I'd wait. SST already has a PPCStore not requiring the theme made, he just needs to make a website for it. Very soon he'll release it.

There’s also Leopard App Store, which in my opinion is heads over heels better than SST’s store. Not to off-put SST’s efforts to build his own store, but the Leopard App Store is much closer to @gavinstubbs09’s original concept, features built in downloading, and has way more apps than PPCStore. So if you’re looking for a standalone store, my vote and recommendation goes to Leopard App Store.

You mean the PPCAppStore, right? Just making sure there isn't some store I don't know about. ;)
