Mine has FINALLY gone into preparing shipment! Thank God! I should be waking up to a nice shipment notification email in the morning 
The everyhandy Apple Store Order Status Widget tells me my MacBook with the wicked 7200 drive has now shipped. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll see it until Monday.

1.83 Ghz Feedback
I am not sure if anyone actually has received the 1.83 yet? But I was
hoping that whoever receives it first to post if there were any issues.
My main concern right now is this whining sound that some people are
talking about. I dont know if this is just a random thing or if we are
expecting to have to deal with this. KINDA WORRIED!!!!
I wont lie to ya, these things tend to get under my skin as I do get rather
agitated with issues such as whining sounds. Other than that, without a
doubt this machine will be a joy to use.
Upon receiving please answer the following:
1) What configuration you bought?
2) Whether in fact there is a whining sound?
3) Where the sound seems to be?
4) Any other feeback or concerns you may have?
I am going to school very soon, and it would be a huge inconvenience
to have to bring the machine in for technical support.
I know that these things can happen, but the sooner we know what the
problem is the sooner we can find a solution.
I appreciate any feedback.

Mine still says the same as well. Hopefully they are further along and FedEx has not updated their site just to mess with our heads.
Well I called the Apple store and they still don't have any in stock...they said next week they might have some.
Still no update to tracking!!!
My FedEx tracking still only says picked up in Shanghai... That was posted on the 22nd. Does this usually take awhile to get updated?

I ordered my 1.67 -> 1.83 with 7200 RPM HDD on Jan 10 at 11:14 am PST. My MacBook Pro shipped Fri Feb 23 at 12:13 am EST. The FedEx status page says it left Shanghai at 2:21 PM. I have no other details yet. I was hoping that it would come today? Maybe tomorrow? Does FedEx deliver on Saturdays?

Ship date of 28th, guess it wont be leaving till then, although I will still
be checking to see.
Do any of you think that they could possibly trying to take care of this
whining issue? Just curious?????? Or any issues people have been having
with the 2.0 & 2.16
Sounds like this issue is really bothering some people, and if a solution
isnt found their will be a lot of returns. Some describe it as being
unbarable......
I really hope this wont be an issue with the 1.83s.
Whoever receives it first, keep us posted.....I know that they have
started shipping.
