I have not missed flash and will be glad when that deal is done.
I do not print, this is 2010 why all the obsession with printing.

I agree. I have yet to need to print and haven't missed the flash.

Mine is at least a solid 9.

If it was a few ounces lighter, ran OS4, and had 1TB of storage, it would be 9.75.

Oh, and for $2000 I can build you an iPad that goes to 12...

How to transport it and case it and the smudgy reflective screen, esp outdoors.
are main negatives. My power support anti-glare fixes that, still trying out diff cases.

7.5 before cases and anti-glare screen.
9 after I get the 3G and case/cover it.

and today I called BB and Apple stores to see if any 3Gs were in town, called from the iPad. gotta love it.

So you gave 5 points for appearance, 3 for annoying people and deducted 2 for the browser, which is actually the most important out of these attributes.

Or that's what I would think. If we take the browser away, what are you left with? You didn't mention anything else...

I think an 8 is appropriate.

I love the design and the way that it has changed the way I consume media. In that regard it is a solid 10 for sure.

I do take away 1 point for no Flash. I hate Flash and agree that we need to move away from proprietary software and implement open standards, but the fact is that many sites still use Flash and Apple has decided that I don't need to see those sites. I knew that going in, but still.

I take away another point for not having an SD card slot built in. I am sure that they could have worked one in there somewhere. I hate the idea of having to buy an adapter to get photos onto it. Shave a bit off the battery to get me only 9 hours of battery life and I am still happy. Silly omission.

I would take another point for not being able to print, but that has been remedied with the Air Sharing app. I am sure Apple will add printing themselves.

I feel the same. I give it 7 right now, as there is no printing and multitasking - plus no front-facing camera.

My thought on it is this.. By today's standards it's a 10. Next year if it's still the same it will be more like a 9 or so as newer tech comes out. What's a 10 today; isn't tomorrow. Leaves it lots of room for future ipads to improve!

Reasons are Big-Mac-syndrome, wifi drops and lack of support for uploading files via Safari. Oh and the fact that content creation on it is so over rated, this little bugger is for content consumption only...

I gave it an 8 I just got it today and just love it. Give me multitasking and it can easily be a 9 or close to a 10
