I got the SFN5122F, and used the drivers available from the SolarFlare website for SFN5xxxx cards.

That card should work fine. I used that same model for quite a long time with no problems at all. I think when I first started using it, I was on El Capitan and they continued to work fine all the way to High Sierra.

Is your Mac internet connected?
If so, running Yosemite is rather naive from a security standpoint.
I would upgrade to Sierra at the very least.

Hi,

Not connected to the internet - The only network connection will be a direct 10GB connection to a Dell 2U server running FreeNAS. This Mac hosts a SAS connection to our LTO library, and will be used exclusively for that purpose.

With drivers built for Mavericks, I would think I'll have an even harder time getting them to work on Sierra than I do on Yosemite.

Haha! Wow, I was not expecting an answer like that. Kudos!

As I stated earlier, by the time I got my SolarFlare card, I was already on El Capitan. All I had to do was plug the card in and install the drivers. Done. I believe I had the card plugged in to PCI-e port 3.

I think there were some firmware settings that you can configure from Windows. You may want to look in to those setting to see if they the cause of your problems. In particular, check the PXE and iSCSI booting options.

So after a clean install of Mojave (10.14.0), I went to get the driver from SolarFlare and they won't install successfully. S

I get a generic error from the Installer.app executed by "Solarflare10GbE.pkg" Source:

Here's the log if anyone has ideas? (/Library/Application\ Support/Solarflare10GbE/postflight.log)
/Library/Extensions/Solarflare10GbE.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) system policy prevents loading; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).

Installer Log:

You could always sell the SolarFlare card and get an Intel instead:

This worked perfectly, and was good to finally have documentation from Apple that explains how the kext authorization works in the Security/Privacy pane. Thanks!

Glad to hear it worked for you. Also glad to hear they didn’t break it in Mojave.
