I imagine by the full release it’ll either be solved or severely mitigated at least. Damn this stutter is so annoying like for real the iPad Air 2 doesn’t stutter like this, it’s had what 3 years of optimization’s though, hmmm hopefully the Pro’s will age like a fine wine. At least opening apps doesn’t stutter anymore that was god awful.

Actually the app switcher alone is worse than 11.0.x. On 11.0.x it only occasionally stuttered but on 11.1 or 11.2 beta it constantly has low fps. I reported it to apple since 11.1 beta2. But this might have lower priority than other security or functional bug. It happens in a totally clean install as well, always reproducible. So hopefully with the release of 11.1 more people will start to notice it and bring it to apple's attention.

Try a soft reset then let your device sit for 15 minutes to index

Hi. Thanks for your advice. I tried this to no avail. I had previously tried a hard reset.

To be honest, I’m not that concerned. I’m disappointed, but the phone is still usable. Not sure why it’s worse on 11.1 than 11.0, but maybe 11.2 will be better.

Thanks again.

Drop frames and UI jitters don't bother me like they do others, and I mostly don't notice it unless I'm looking for it. That said, I had a good laugh when I first unlocked my iPhone 7 on 11.1 I was greeted with a very jittery, frame-dropping animation into the home screen. I haven't spent enough time to evaluate whether it's overall more fluid or not, that may have been a one-off first launch thing.

What does bother me is when I have to wait over 10 seconds for an operation to complete, which has been the case most of the time when I deal with photos. I'm not sure I can blame iOS 11.x specifically on that, as I recently started using iCloud Photos with a 120k+ photo collection. Though I don't consider that acceptable regardless of my collection size.
