I can mirror most of the positive comments here. I like the feel of the keys when typing a lot actually.

The magnets work great. My S1 12.9 would release spontaneously sometimes. I do not have that concern with the new one. I also like how much smaller, thinner and lighter the combined package is.

But I do find this “tippier” on my lap than the original. Not critically but I tend to be more wary of it on my lap.

I just got back from picking up the 11” version of the Smart Keyboard.
First impressions are I really like it.
I played with it a little in the store and thought I’d struggle with the pretty tiny keys, but turns out now I am typing this that it is a non issue!
I seem to have adapted quite quickly.

I like the feel of the case, I like the design of it although echo pretty much every other persons thoughts about the keyboard being at the back when trying to hold the tablet in tablet mode. For me, I will be removing the ipad from the case when I use it as a tablet.

I really am impressed with the shortcuts that the keyboard give you. And I guess that is part of the reason I like it so much. Being able to switch between tabs on the browser, go home, edit text, scroll through web pages or shoot straight to the top bottom of them all through some key presses is amazing.

I always thought the keyboard case would literally just give you a keyboard. So to have all that additional use is great for me.

So far so impressed! :)

I finally got around to using the Apple Keyboard Folio on my 12.9 2019. Nothing earth shattering here. I had a keyboard folio for my 10.5. So I’m used to the general design. I’m glad Apple got rid of the hump that appeared on my 10.5 keyboard folio. As others have reported, with the keyboard folded back, you end up touching the non-active keys perched behind the iPad Pro. I’d rather use the IPP naked or with the plain folio. But, for short term use it is okay.

The keyboard folio offers two angles. I use the lower angle for table top typing. I like the higher angle if typing with the iPad on my lap. I’m not a fan of typing on my lap even with a true laptop computer. Maybe my legs are too short, but when I type on my lap with the iPadPro 12.9 the downward angle doesn’t work for me.

I think if you do a lot of typing the Apple membrane style keyboard is not ideal. I’d hate to write a book or take a long exam using this keyboard. My old battery operated Apple keyboard would feel better for long typing sessions. I’m sure third parties will come to the rescue, but will be likely be thicker and to some degree less portable. Who knows, maybe some Logitech genius will win our love.

One last thing. I don’t mind that the keyboard doesn’t have an Apple logo on the back for public display. My Fujifilm X-Pro 2 camera doesn’t have a brand name or logo on the front. I like that.
