Ok.. so is the stainless steel On the 12 pro max PVD coated or not, i can’t find anything about it I always polish my phones and want to be able to polish This one if it gets scratched.. will be so upset if it’s coated and can’t be polished!

I still have an iPhone X. The Space black model then had something similar to DLC on the stainless steel band, so you did not get scratches as you would on regular polished stainless. Three years later, mine is 100 percent brand new in appearance besides maybe some dust in the charge port.

Do any of the 12 pro models have a similar type coating on the stainless steel band?

The gold has some scratch resistant coating apparently.

Yes, all the colors have the coating this year.

I buy the silver so I can polish it as it scratches. If I start to get scratches on the rumored PVD finish, I'm gonna use metal polish and see what happens 🤷‍♂️ Don't really care how the finish holds up under Applecare, I know the other colors peel over time and I won't feel bad having it replaced if Apple made that dumb mistake on silver. I buy the silver for long term durability.
