I had a chance to compare my old 12 PM to the new 13 PM while waiting at Apple to get my new 13 PM. I could see the difference and even now I can still see how smooth it is. The only time I could see this was using my 12 PM after using my 2021 12.9 Ipad Pro.

The video demonstrates that scrolling in Settings is only around 90 Hz on the iPhone.
That would make total sense then, whereas the Galaxy seems to use 120hz more aggressive- I guess it’s all about making the battery gains we are seeing so a balance which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

I’ve been waiting what feels like forever for a 120Hz AMOLED iPhone and at long last it’s here! I even bought a Galaxy S20 just to try 120Hz AMOLED and never put my SIM card in it haha.

AMOLED’s response time is MUCH faster than LCD’s so you can’t compare 120Hz on the iPad’s to this. This is on another level.

So how do y’all feel about it? I personally believe this is the biggest change to the iPhones screen since the term “retina” was coined in 2010, or when AMOLED was implemented in 2017. Thoughts?
It’s the biggest display advancement since the Xs Max in 2018. I can notice a difference. Apple has often favored “do it right” over “do it first” and it seems like their engineers have spent a ton of time focusing on optimizing battery life while implementing this feature, hence why iPhone got it late.
