I bought an Apple refurbished MBP M1 16 GB during the summer, even though these new Pros were right around the corner. But to be honest I have no need for the extra performance from the newest laptops, this M1 MacBook is extremely fast already. I have never heard the fans, even when compiling code. And it's much cheaper, you can easily save 1000$ (compared to the new 14") if you get a refurbished model. It comes with everything in the box too, I don't believe there is even any difference from getting one new.
It's a good choice.

Thats a wise choice if you're buying new. But for those who already have an M1 there is no real justification to upgrade. I get that people are excited but all of this complaining about the M1 being slow is absolute bull. Just watch the videos from a year ago , just use one for a while. This is what's bothering me the most about all of this - the lies and misinformation being spread about M1 performance.

Furthermore I don't understand why people are accepting apples pathetic trade in value to upgrade the M1 to one of the new MacBook Pros - you may as well flush your money down the toilet or give the device away from what they are offering.
Great deals on 13 M1 Pro time to buy one if anybody is looking for one!

I went for the 14". This laptop is way more powerful than I need but I mainly bought it for the mini LED display. It is beautiful and I like watching movies and Youtube on it. The 13" Air/Pro just seems a touch too small for me. 14" is my sweet spot.

Buying it on Apples education page will get you a nice discount to help ease the blow.
