Yeah, I'd say that you pretty much hit it on the head there, ColoJohnBoy.
A few people here are speculating about 1.4 Ghz, which is the first time I've heard that. Wonder if the 970 will have a speed throttle function where the chip can fall back to 800 Mhz, or something like that, to conserve battery life on the road. I was surprised to hear that the 12" currently does something like this....thought it was just an Intel thing. Some people hate the idea of this, but it seems like a good trade off to me (especially if it means getting a 970 in a Powerbook soon). :)

If the 15" Powerbooks are G4 updates, wouldn't Apple want to get them out before WWDC? Would give everyone here time to mourn ahead of time and then get psyched up for WWDC again, rather than be dissapointed during it. Well makes sense for this small majority of the Mac community at least. ;)

Add USB 2.0 and I'm there...

Many of you are predicting 333MHz DDR memory, but that doesn't make much sense given that the 970's FSB runs at 800MHz. A more likely configuration would be to use 400MHz DDR on a dual channel memory bus.

While you're technically right, a 400 MHz bus for a portable doesn't actually exist yet.

Isn't that what Apple does all the time? Launching things which "doesn't actually exist yet"?? :D

how about the RDRAMs?? they already run at 800MHz, they could be a nice solution, wouldnt they??
