I don't have mine yet unfortunately. And it's not that I 'prefer not to listen,' I just don't blindly believe anything someone says. I like hard evidence. That's why I attempted to find cache power consumption data.
The only 100% hard data I have is the one I got myself from the past (88-92C on 2.4GHz, 103C + mild throttling on 2.6Ghz under the same 100% CPU stress test scenario) I don't remember exact TB numbers, but it's typically 0.1-0.2Ghz fluctuation for 2.6Ghz model, which was bringing it down to the lower-end model range.

My main concern was those +10C, not the performance difference. I hardly feel even +30% performance boost in real world unless I run something very long and very intensive (comsol simulation, video encoding or a retarded unoptimized compiler) and use a timer

The 2.7 is only 4% faster than the 2.6. The increase in performance would be very imperceptible. The 460 is 43% more powerful than the 455. Which you certainly will notice on apps that utilize the GPU (final cut, etc...).

In a nut shell, you have way more to gain with the 460 especially as 3rd party software developers utilize the GPU for computing tasks more efficiently. Which is definitely something they will put much more emphasis on now that you are having CPU performance start to plateau.

Hey guys. Very important questions. Apple doesn't have the 460 model on time for me (I'll be leaving).
Therefore my options are either the base pro model 15 inch 2016 with the 2.6 and the 450 or the 2.7 with the 460.

I will use it for 4k editing on Final Cut and some web design and graphic design and general tasks.

Some it worth it to go for the 2.7 with 455 or is the difference negligible? Especially I am interested for final Cut if there will be any significant peromance boost.

Also about that throttling. Are there any new data? Are we assuming that it will throttle or not?

Thank you guys. Your help is extremely important. Be well.
