So I got a 16 Pro when they came out 2 years ago and was planning on upgrading to the 18 pro but with the rumored price hikes I’m having second thoughts. Just wondering what my fellow 16 Pro users were thinking?

iPhone 16 Pro 16 Pro to 18 Pro?

Same reason as the previous poster. The hefty price hike.
Its funny 😁 because a week ago just got the 17PM.
Will not be upgrading to the 18PM due to the extra price hikes for the 18 Pro series.
Having that said, the 17PM is amazing and will be supported with major iOS and security updates for the next 7 years.

Waiting until next year for the anniversary iPhone and redesign. I feel like the 18 Pro will just be another incremental update and not really a fan of the big camera plateau.

I have every Pro iPhone from my 11 Pro to my 17 Pro (see second row) all of which are in their max storage capacity. With that said, I will be getting the 18 Pro in it’s max storage capacity after it launches, not necessarily on launch day but I will be getting one.

I currently have a 16 Pro Max that is about to come to the end of my 2 year contract. I have the money for the upgrade, but have decided to defer it another year and just reduce my bill. My wife has a 17 Pro which is essentially an identical device in use to mine and the rumours of minor spec bumps for the 18 Pro and significant price increases have made me question why I should bother to upgrade? My 16 Pro Max is still a great phone, its paid off, has 100% battery, the camera is plenty good enough. Its a bit of a hard sell for Apple this year I think and many of us are not convinced.
Went from 8+ to 16 pro. Aside from a bump in speed, i don't notice much for day to day use and that's 8 years of phone lol

I suppose both 🤣 but this is something I have been doing for almost twenty years now. Collecting iPhones. For me it makes for a fun "retirement" hobby.

So you use them for one year, keep them pristine and then put them in a show cabinet?
16 pro here as well. I usually upgrade on a two-year cycle, as my battery usually falls near 80%. This time will be the first cycle where it still is in the low 90% range, but I think I will still move to the foldable, if the dimensions are similar to the Galaxy Fold 8. The form factor is amazing, and I approve of the purchase. 😛

It has not been quite like that. I skipped the 12 Pro and 14 Pro and picked up these iPhones this year to complete my collection. As for my 15 Pro, 16 Pro and 17 Pro . . . I cycle around these devices and am currently using my 16 Pro as my primary iPhone for now while the other Pro series iPhones remain in my iPhone cabinet. 😎
No I won’t be. Waiting until the 20th anniversary edition next year.
Although depending on the price of that I may stick with the 16 PM even longer.

Ahh, that’s awesome, you have a lovely collection! I just keep my daily drivers in the most pristine condition as best I can before they go into storage. I just have a 6S, OGSE, 8, 13 and 17 Pro.
