Im really thinking about getting the 16gb 3g Ipad but leaning to the 32gb 3g Ipad. My question is I have the 16gb I tough 2nd Gen. I have never filled that up. All 50 games 20 movies ect ect. Will the 16gb Ipad fill faster than the itouch? Im just using the ipad for Movies, Games, Internet and Magazines, News Papers, but thats it.

I plan on getting the 16gb 3G as well.
I have 8gb of music and about 20 movies or so(in iTunes). I was thinking today that music wise, I'm really not going to put a lot on the iPad. Maybe even just the top 25 or something. I always have my 16gb nano with all my music and my 8gb iPhone with more than half my music with me at all times.
I really think the 16gb iPad will be more than enuff.
That's just me tho.

I have my 8gb nano for music. i dont carry music around. I leave my nano at home.

My 16gb touch typically had 10gb free, my 16gb iPad has less then 3, swapping to a 32 this week. But I have a few gig of PDFs alone.

I went with the 16gb simply because 32 nor 64 can hold my picture/music collection.

I saw no sense in spending for more space when even if i did i was not playing on having my entire collection there.

Like one of the members mentioned above top I'll put on it is my my top 25.
I'm anxiously waiting for apple to go in the cloud.

I would consider 32GB. I bought a 16GB for my wife and filled it up almost immediately. I was going to return and get a 32. They were sold out on the 32 so I opted for a 64GB instead.

I originally pre-ordered a 16gb 3G, too. I imagine it'll be enough, as I won't have any movies on there and my iTunes library is <1000 songs w/ no videos. But after reading about how much space the apps alone may end up using, uncertainty about the size of e-magazines and (more importantly to me) considering potential resale value, I upgraded my order to a 32gb 3G. Now if we could just get a shipping date!!

I look at it as 16gb is more than enough to get me through one day.
I have no problem syncing new content every night if needed.
As someone else mentioned, why pay extra for something that still isn't enough for all your content.

im thinking. im always updating my content anyways. movies get old. magazines get old. i wont keep aprils maxim magizine in my ipad. movies and games is mostly. maybe every months issue of maxim and playboy but thats it.

I originally wanted the 16 gig but ended up with the 32 gig. After a week of using it and downloading content I am glad that I went with the 32 gig. The OS alone is 3 gigs which takes a large chunk of the 16 gig out of the box. A lot of the apps I have are over 100 megs each and I suspect the upcoming apps to continue getting bigger in size. I think the 32 gig is the perfect size.

I went with 16gb typing on it now.

Unless you are away for several days at a time i see no need for more than 16gb.

Regular apps that I've installed are in the 20mb range tops. My large apps are in the 100-200mb+ range. With all my apps i want currently some pictures, one 30 min show and few app docs im still at 13gb free.

I've been using neflix so don't have any movies up here now.

How are you at 13gb if the above poster is claiming the OS is 3gb?
Not saying your wrong. Just two conflicting posts

ur right. if im going on a vacation and want movies. i just carry my laptop with me and sync what ever i need to sync.

I would stick with getting a 32 GB. You will want more content on the iPad, much more enjoyable for viewing your media than the iPhone/iPod Touch.

OS is not that large.

Capacity of device 14.02GB.

Again though depends on what you want to do with it.

I have a 32GB 3GS and use that for my music. iPad I stream through netflix more and will add/remove movies as I need. As more apps come out I'm sure I'll use more space but as I had my 3GS since it came out and I'm still at 26GB free I doubt I'll fill up iPad.

I have a lot of media, but on a day to day no need to carry around more then what I'll use at that time.

I would stick with the 16. It's plenty big. However if you want to upgrade then go to the 64. It's the better deal. The 32 is for all of the people who can't make decisions and always go with the 'safe bet'.

When someone said the OS was 3GB I thought that sounded odd!
Thanks for clearing that up.
I'm really torn between the 16 and 32 the more I think about it... I think I will end up going with the 16 because that is more than enuff content for one day for me.

Get the 32

If you will ever use your iPad away from the computer you sync it to for more than a day or two, go with at least the 32GB.

For use around the house, or during the day where I can sync whenever I feel like it, the 16GB works fine using smart playlists, etc.

When I travelled for a week, managing content in 16GBs was tough. I can't take my iTunes library with me, it is far too large. The 16GB wifi version I am using now will go to my daughter when my 64GB 3G version arrives.

all my music is on a 8bg nano. magazines, newspapers, games. movies thats it. a few games but i mostly play on my 16gb i touch.

I went with what I could afford and simply had no more money to buy the 32gb because I have monthly bills etc. For the people saying " go for the 64gb one", with some of us, that is not even possible.

im on the same boat..i just dont want to spend so much money where it almost cost as much as the lower end imac..yikes..

I went with 32gb and filled up 28gb of it right away, with most of the space going to videos. However I just installed "Air Video" today and now that I can access all of my desktop computer's videos remotely from the iPad, I realize I probably didn't have to convert and copy over so much video.

Yeah..went round and round on this.
It's my first 'release day' Apple purchase.
I didn't know what my reqs would wind up being.

I rationalized it that since my daughter spent $400 on her senior prom dress (her money) which would only be used once....the $699 for the 64 gig made a lot of sense. (Note: This is 'male' rationalization and can also be interchanged with curtains, duvet's and designer hand bags :p )

Seriously, worst comes to worst the 64gig will hold it's resale value better than the others...(and you can use it more than once and hopefully your date won't puke on it)

I planned on getting a 16Gb wifi, but my wife suggested the 32Gb instead, just for the extra storage, so I got that. After loading about 65 books, a selection of playlists from my library and adding 12 apps, I still have 22Gb spare - though if I'd got the smaller capacity model that would be down to 6Gb. With no video yet added, and the intention to have a dozen or so ripped DVDs on it, I'm glad I got the 32Gb model - the extra $100 was worth the extra space, once the decision to buy an iPad was made.

I purchased the 16GB wifi saturday and it is already full, i only went with the 16GB as i am returning it for the 64GB 3G when it comes out later this month. The app sizes are much larger, i have about 4GB just in apps alone plus music and movies. I would not go with anything less then 32GB ever again.
