I login into sites with just a tap on the iPhone. With other iOS password apps you can copy and paste either the url, username, or password, but you can't do all three with just a tap, with 1Password Pro you can.

I use both desktop and iOS apps.

Desktop makes saving new urls, usernames, and passwords extremely easy.

iOS app simply makes filling out all that stuff on sites as easy as a tap.

You'll need the free version to get the DropBox sync going though. If you don't need the desktop, it's not necessary to keep it. I'd still go with 1Password Pro even if I hadn't bought the desktop only worrying that the syncing code might be changed (syncing code for other services like Gcal and Toodledo occasionally are changed, which then creates problems for apps that sync to those services).
+1. That's what I do. Dropbox syncing is phenomenal.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A306 Safari/6531.22.7)

eWallet??? Do they even have a native OSX desktop app? I bought iliums app when the app store opened. They promised a Mac app but it is vaporware.

Been using 1PassWord for over a year now for all my Macs (1 MacMini and 2 MacBook Pros).

The integration of the desktop 1PassWord version with safari is brilliant.
It just works, never had an issue, and im able to keep the exact same info on all my macs via iphone wifi sync, so i basically have 4 backups.

The UI on the 1P is gorgeous on a Mac.

I have no regrets about spending money on this application.

Right on the money on all your points. The Mac/Safari/Chrome integration is stellar and well worth the price of admission. This app is polished all-around from the Mac to the various i-Device clients. The only thing IMHO that is missing from 1Pwd is the lack of templates which I know that DataVault supports. Even with this missing feature, I still choose 1Pwd over DV and most of the other password apps out there.

Can you tell us why you feel it is far far superior? I'd like to hear about your experiences.

thanks,
BZ

one of things I noticed is that you can't have different categories with 1password. I also got both 1password pro and datavault. I am still puzzled which way to go but for now I am using datavault.

Datavault has much more customizable options than 1password pro. All 1password carries is just login, account, notes, software and wallet items categories. So all your bank cards, drivers licesnce, etc, are at one place.

Where datavault, you can create categories, edit, and organise the way you want. So if only want to see my visa information, I would only go my credit card folder. But with 1password, i need to look through all my wallet items.

Desktop version of 1password looks pretty and Mac friendly but lacks the organise feature. I like the idea of smart folders but they don't work on iPhone. There is no duplicate/multiple entry options so you have to type in everything again for each item.

One other thing that both apps lack are customizable icons.

1Password or DataVault

I'm currently running 1Password 3.75 on a Mac mini for almost 2 years with no problems. It works great with Safari 5.1(6534.50) and Firefox 5.0.1. and I was very satisfied with it. Firefox just updated to ver. 6 and now 1Password isn't quite compatible with it. It supposedly works with Safari with a few glitches. According to the Agile forum, people who downloaded Firefox 6 and 1Password 3.81 are having serious problems. Agile says they are working on a fix, but they can't give a time frame. All I'm reading is people having problems and reverting back to FF5.0.1. and 1Password 3.75. I want to dump 1Password and get another password manager. Would DataVault be a good replacement?

Majority of people have no issues using Firefox 6 and 1Password, remember that most people who have no issues don't usually visit forums to say that.

Some of the issues that 1Password is having with Firefox 6 are due to some specific configurations that they're tracking down. Extensions like FoxyProxy will interfere with 1Password because of the new extension data syncing process in the background.

AgileBits is usually pretty fast with their fixes.

People don't need to downgrade to 1Password 3.7.5 at all, just Firefox 5 which 1Password 3.8.1 still supports via a different method.
