do password managers work with apps?

i.e. what happens when you've set your password up with facebook for example, and it's a long encrypted code with 1P, than you want to login on the facebook app.

Same goes for banking, or anything really.... do you have to copy and paste it? or...?

I don't have a mobile phone, we still have our fixed phone at home. Yes, I know, I am a technological dinosaur.

In another thread here there is a discussion on the speed of the internet. My connection is slooow... Ping of 1.62, download speed 1.62, upload speed 0.44. I will try to download el capitan first thing tomorrow as I get up so early (6.30 am Central European time) it may be quieter then.

I love the concept of password managers, but it wasn't until iOS 8 that it became useful with Touch ID and share sheet extensions to make accessing passwords faster. It definitely takes some dedication to get the hang of though, so you must believe in it and want to use it if you are to make it work.

I'm using 1Password all the time, and it's great. They also explain the tech side of their programs quite often on their blog so check that out to find answers to your questions;)

Besides being cross platform (Windows/OS X), how is 1Password better than Keychain?

+1 on what @Easttime said. I have all kinds of things stored in 1P outside of passwords. Credit Cards, documents, notes, software licenses, etc. You can choose how you want to sync, set up multiple databases (family, personal, etc). For security, regardless of how you are syncing, if Dropbox/iCloud/your computer somehow gets hacked, they still need your 1P password to decrypt it. Just make sure your 1P password is strong it'll be the only one you need to remember.

It works great on iOS. It can be accessed via share sheet in Safari to autofill passwords. Much more secure than Keychain. As long as your iOS device is unlocked, there isn't any secondary security measure to autofill. With 1P, you'd still have to unlock with your regular password, short passcode or Touch ID.

Plus their support is fantastic. Money well spent for the iOS app and OS X app.

Just to make sure I didn't miss anything...you can only save notes, documents and such within the OS X app correct? I don't see the option in the iOS app?

TIA

You can create notes or anything else in any other category but you can not add file attachments in the iOS app. I wouldn't be surprised if this was on their roadmap though now that iOS is getting a little better at handling such things.
