update - my issues
Well, I downgraded back to 9.24, then to 9.5 something for quicktime. This seems to keep the temps under control more than 10.
The fan revs up to 6200 regularly, but I never see temps over 71 to 73 anymore. It seems that the fans are set to rev up earlier to keep it cooler.
This drives me crazy as when I first applied the patch - 2600 rpm fan and 65 C for a 1.5 hour video on youtube - I should not have upgraded to QT 10 - why do I do these things?
I really love my air, bought it for 1450 CDN off of ebay including applecare, superdrive and a sleeve (for the math pros - about 950 for the air itself). I have a 24" 3.06 Imac at home and use this as my travel computer for which it is perfectly suited. I don't use an external monitor or any 'resource hog' applications so no core shutdowns - perfect computer for the need.
