I bought a Mini 1 month ago and I love it. :)

It's quiet and more then powerful enough for what I do with a computer. :D

yeah mini's are absolutely horrible in terms of value... I can't believe i actually considered buying one back when I knew nothing about macs... :p (It was cheapest thing available)

If you already have a screen, then a mini's value isn't all that bad. It depends a bit on your exact needs.

If I already have a screen i'd sell it for an iMac

I see the jokey-joke, but actually, I wouldn't sell the screen. In fact, I'm keeping mine to use as a second display for my upcoming iMac purchase. I saw a similar setup at a CompUSA store several months ago and thought, Oh H**LZ yeah!

(Of course, the real question is, when I use Bootcamp to run Cakewalk, will Windows recognize the second display like the Mac will? I hope so...)

I considered the Mini for a minute or two, but decided that, since I'll be doing multitrack digital audio, the iMac's faster HD was a must.

The only reason I'm waiting now is for my local Apple Store to start stocking iMacs with Leopard preinstalled. Perhaps by that time, they'll have fixed the screen freeze! :)

dino, are you using the speakers in your tv, or do you have something else?
the mini will run seemlessly into your tv using the cable someone had a link for. sound - 3.5mm jack to whatever your sound input is - probably rca (will cost you about $3).
Make sure the mini comes with the remote as you will want this to control front row easily.

i love my mini. I have the original. Almost three years old and still performs well. My next machine will also be a mini. December 1st I will be ordering one for x-mas. This is definately a solid machine if you are on a budget or have a quality monitor you don't want to dispose of.

If you do, don't forget this......

my tv is the samsung le32r74bd, the one they use as the demo with the 360. i'm not sure how i will be using the audio just yet as i will be removing my old xbox which i currently use as a media centre in exchange for the mini which will be my apple osx tester/new fancier media centre.

i have a surround sound all in one system in my room that i could use for the sound, any suggestions?

whats the best way to rig up my mac mini when i get it?

I bought a mini when Leopard was released and I already had a SR MBP. I think the mini is a great machine. Trouble free especially compared to the recent MBP and iMac releases. It is great for HTPC and basically anything other than video intensive tasks such as 3D games. I have mine hooked up to a 46" Sony LCD and I use it more than my MBP now. Its a great machine.:D

finally did it guys

joined the mac phenom.... and it feels really good so far

Welcome.
LONG LIVE MAC MINI.
I too have the original G4 model and it still runs strong. Just ripped a dvd using Handbrake.
