Corning and Samsung got together and decided the Note 4 would be their guinea pig in a massive public beta test and you are puffing up your chest with pride.

Corning manufactures a new Gorilla Glass
Corning tests the integrity/performance of this Glass internally
To avoid massive recall/backlash/legal issues it limits the availability of the glass to only a few handsets.
Call it what you will this is a massive field test being conducted by using the Note 4 and the Alpha as its test device . If Corning was so confidant in the initial release of this product it would have been available on more handsets right from the beginning.
It's more of a "let's see how this performs in the hands of thousands of every day people before we release it to millions".

Yeah because only thousands bought the Galaxy Alpha and Note 4...
Your weird little theory would have more grip had they not released it on all of the new phones made by Android's biggest hardware manufacturer. Apple didn't exactly have a huge testing program for their strengthened glass either before releasing it for mass consumption.
They have to keep telling themselves all kinds of crazy things these days after GT failed to bring the sapphire and their phones ended up with whatever was left.

Notice how this article doesn't mention anyone else other than Samsung?
-Is it because no other manufacturer cares for stronger glass? Highly unlikely
-Is it because other manufacturers want to wait and see what happens with Samsung first before they commit? More likely, hence going back to my point...GUINEA PIG.

There could be any number of reasons why it's only on Samsung (as far as we know), from the manufacturers not disclosing what glass tech they're using to Samsung getting early access to the fact that the tech only became available for the latest phones to hit the market (while others like Nexus 6 don't have it perhaps because of budgeting reasons). The solid fact is that neither you nor I know why. Yet I don't go bashing something I'm clueless about, generating conspiracies from thin air like you are doing right now.

Exactly ... There seems to be an influx of late of posters turning up round here simply to do that.
It's not a software with millions of lines of code that needs extensive beta testing to find elusive bugs, it's a piece of glass. A new iteration of a product that's been around for years. How can you even apply the term "beta testing" to something like this?

Man come on. Most of us try to sit out the first release of anything until they get the kinks out of it. I'm not bringing up a conspiracy. I'm just saying Samsung is literally volunteering to massively test this product first before anyone else. That's not something to be proud of.
And are you an employee at Corning? Are you cousins with the senior chief of QA? Huh? What connections do you have with Corning that makes you so comfortable to say that they haven't already done super extensive testing? Or do you just bash anything that has to do with Samsung?

Glad Samsung is using gg4 but my friends alpha got a small crack in the screen already.
They should Mame the screens thicker instead of trying to make them as thin and light as possible.
Not going to lie though the cell took a huge digger and I was surprised it only got a small crack in the screen and didn't spider web it like all other phones I've seen
