Who buys a car and then bitches about the color after they get it home?

No one forced anyone to buy this device, so I don't understand why so many feel the need to complain about features they knew it didn't have when they bought it.

It is exactly what I thought it would be, and even more. I'm completely satisfied with it.

Great for you! But what a stupid argument! In case you were unaware, there are more choices when buying a car. Unfortunately, you cannot choose another tablet to do what the iPad does. I think he is within his rights to complain about some of the features it doesn't have.

Are you really telling me you're 100% satisfied with everything you've ever bought.... I didn't think so.... There's always something else it could have, or could do. The iPad missed so many features, but for what it does, it's still worth having.

That's complete bunk.

There are many alternatives to the iPad, including not purchasing anything. Netbooks, Laptops, PDAs, Phones, and Tablet devices. All of these can do what the iPad does and more. They are just different. Just like cars are different.

My only dislike is the glossy smudgy screen, but a high quality anti-glare screen protector will fix that, (when Power Support brings it).

I don't understand why people would want a camera on an iPad... wouldn't you look mighty stupid holding up this huge 9" device to take a picture? And wouldn't it be kind of difficult to hold it up and focus it on taking a picture and then pressing the button? maybe I'm missing something here

This. I understand a front facing camera, but holding a huge device up in the air to snap a picture would be ridiculous. And where would you do this? It's not like this thing fits in your pocket and you could just whip it out for a picture. Seems odd.

Ok, here's an example. Turn by turn sat nav, using AR to overlay maps and speed etc like HUD on a jet fighter. That would be to die for for me.

Some people want a car with many features, but cannot afford the top of the line model with heated seats, sat nav, parking sensors, air con etc, so they settle for a base model. Doesn't mean they cannot complain about it.

Some people only want Apple products, and correct me if I'm wrong but the base level laptop starts at around £900, and, it's a laptop, not a tablet. You're missing the point that is, if I want something for it's basic functionality and buy it, I'm entitled to complain about what features it doesn't have, as is the OP about the iPad.

I would have liked to have a wall mount on my iMac, however, I didn't want to buy the 27" version, doesn't mean I cannot complain that they didn't offer this on my 21.5" version. I wasn't going to not get if for not having this feature.

I will put to you the same question. Are you really saying that everything you have ever bought has always had 100% of everything you've ever wanted in a product?

Dont get me wrong I love the ipad but there are 2 things that I hate about it, the first one is that I have to depend on itunes to transfer files to it. The second thing is that they didnt add a camera to it. I would love to be able to take pictures and record videos/edit them and the option to upload the to youtube.

Im just hoping they come with a hack so we can connect a usb webcam into the usb adapter that its coming out soon.

Also multitasking will be nice to have it this summer and not on fall, I hate to stop a netflix movie to check an incoming email :(

I could see Apple coming up with some type of document management desktop application.

I love seeing people talk about how badly they want a camera for taking pictures and videos on the iPad. The thought of those people holding their iPad up to take pictures and videos always amuses me.

You must hate Steve Jobs...what new has he brought to the tablet (sorry, table) recently?

Camera on the Back -> Productivity.

Say i'm writing up a product description. Have the product and just want to show whoever is consuming the document an example. BOOM :D picture.

Say i'm writing an email to the in-laws. Kid is running around and they want to see a picture BOOM :D

I mean it's to the point why not? As long as the device is mobile there is always times you could use it for pictures. If you have it out... see something interesting ... take a pic instead of grabbing out your phone from your pocket / bag etc. That's half the use of the phone cameras until recently. The actual picture quality was really crap but it was there and convenient so you used it.

I'm really amazed at the feedback people get for just stating a few dislikes. It's not like he's trashing the thing. Seriously you would think you are talking about people's moms or something. People also are allowed to buy things they aren't 100% satisfied with at first or allowed to have a difference of opinion later.

The car and the paint thing is kind of silly. He didn't talk about the color of his ipad which would be a direct comparison. It's about the functionality. It's like buying a car that and just wishing it had a little extra pickup or space or colder a/c

Personally I like the fact that it doesn't have a camera. Many places of business prohibit devices like cellphones with cameras. Almost every cellphone has one, and every Apple laptop has one - an Apple-using business person can't use these things. In fact, if the iPad had a camera, it couldn't be used in a courtroom.

Personally, I don't think it needs a camera. Or, at the bare minimum, should come in a camera-less configuration like some Blackberry models.

I totally disagree with camera on the ipad. I think it's completely unnecessary, just holding up to take picture with one hand holding and other hand to click to take picture is just awkward. I believe Apple didn't add camera just to avoid people complaining dropping thier ipad on their foot. Eventually camera will be on ipad as front facing.

I hate people who don't bring anything new to the table

This. These are little complaints that have been stated over and over.

There are plenty of ways to get files without using iTunes (email, dropbox, goodreader, evernote, etc.). Personally, I feel a camera would be gimmicky and I would not use it ever. I am not worried about either of these to complaints.

Next.
