Can you buy these from the education store without proving you are a teacher or student? They shouldn't really count if only schools can get them.

The answer is yes you can, if you lie on the form in the educational store.

They rarely check. And what's the worse that can happen? The transaction is cancelled and you buy normally (or try again later).

I was afraid there might be some silly requirement like they only ship to the school and not to your home.
