Thanks. I'm not sure I can really go wrong with either one of them from what I gather.
Probably not, they will both look awesome at any desk, to bad one need to replace the rest of the whole appartment if one want to match ;D

OK. I really just need to cease all contact with people on this board . You guys have talked me into the 24" through various thread posts. Geesh.

I love to edit photography on my computer. The one thing that bugs the heck out of me with my laptop screen is the fact that I get a lot of color shifting depending on the viewing angles of the screen. I'll edit a photo to perfection on my laptop and e-mail it to someone. I consistently get the comment that the photo is either too light or too dark and I know it's got to be due to my laptop screen.

So anyway....I'm on the phone with Apple right now getting it all changed. I might be broke after this purchase, but at least I'll have a nice computer to look at.

Give it 2 weeks and you won't think it's that large longer, give it 2 months and look at a 20" and you will think it's very small, look at a 17" crt and you will wonder what is wrong with people.

Exactly. You think that the 24" is big now, but after staring at the 20" for a while, it will become small very quickly. I know my 24" looks no where as big now as it did when I unpacked it! My wife's 19" sure looks tiny. :D

I think it is obvious to suggest that once you have used a bigger monitor for a reasonable length of time, the smaller one will indeed seem, well smaller.

That doesn't mean the OP should go for the 24". Unless they are going to be sitting in front of a 24" at work or whatever, they are not going to think their 20" is too small.

Well, I'm the OP. I decided to eventually order the 24" because I love to edit photography on my computer and the 20" TN screen just didn't get me very excited. The nice 24" screen, however....that's a different story!!

Loving to edit in photoshop is nice and all. Albeit, many getting the 24" isn't using/going to/ it to it's full usage! Most of you will be working in photos the dimension of photos that are easily nice on a 17".

But hey, it's your money, and no one can say **** about it.:p

But then again, you have no idea how involved I am with my photography. For all you know, I used to work for both my city newspaper and the University of Wyoming photo department shooting sports and other photos for them (which I did)!

I also shoot much of my stuff in RAW files and often edit photos that are quite large. Dealing with panoramic stitching is also something I am involved with.

I also can't stand the color shifts that a TN panel displays. It has annoyed me for years on my laptop. Luckily, the 24" will solve this problem.

Sooo...I think I have a pretty good excuse :D

Do you have 1080p LCD HDTV?

Save some money. Get the 20'' and just sit closer to it! :D

LOL

I wanted the 24" back then but since I can I use my 37" 1080p Sharp AQUOS (DVI) I went with 17" 2.0GHz iMac.

My room changed and I love High-Def (have HD DVD & BD) so that's why I'm going with the 24" 2.4GHz iMac.

OMG. My first flat imac was the 17", and when I got it home it looked so small! Have the 20" and just ordered a 24" as the screen looked a whole lot better.

I bought the 20 high end, and that was not a compromise for me. The 24" just seems too big for my taste. Either way I'm sure you'll be happy with your purchase.
